481 | Peace with Cancer | Phil 4:7 | justme | 87988
j5962cjs: Welcome to the Forum! I am not sure who this believe is, you or someone you know. However I can speak from very personal experience, to your question. I am in raditation treatment at peresent time. I quite offen read psalm 139. There I find that the Lord knew this would be a part of my life before I was born. The Lord Almighty knows all the days we have, and God is loving and compassionately cares for me. In Romans 8, the entire chapter speaks to every issue I have in living and dealing with cancer. I pray and others as well, that my life be in the direct will of the Father. That is where I want to be, what more can I ask? I some time ago heard about a young person dealing with cance. Their thought was "yard by yard lifes to hard. Inch by inch life is a sinch". To be open, a lot of deep emotions are at the front of my thoughts. To be very honest, at times it is rather overwhelming to deal with cancer. I sometimes feel alone, and sad. There are times I have real peace, and there are times when pain and being uncomfortable physically, I wonder how I will endure to the end of treatments. I am often brought to remember verses I have comitted to memory that bring calmness to my mind and body. I tell you very openly with out my wife and her carrying much of the load and being my "wind benieth my wings" I most surely would be unable to endure this. Our children, all adults and married, and grandchildren, are big in supporting me which all helps. I believe this is much of a total picture of "How to walk in peace". I sincerly hope this helps you, and that you can gleam some peace from my life experience. Blessings and Peace. justne |

482 | Communion | Matt 26:26 | justme | 87562
JimCar: You have asked a very important question. I can give you a very bias pritestant view, as the Locknam is representative of evangelical position. I am in no way saying I represent Lockman, let me make that abundantly clear. I do have a M Div. and a MARS degree fron a Baptist Theological Seminary. I am retired, and can give you my perspective from my understanding of Scripture. Ok? Protestants DO NOT believe that the bread and cup turn into the actual flesh and blood of Christ as Catholics do. We do not believe in Sacrements as Catholics do. These are major and important differences, and not to be taken lightly. Many protestants do not believe in infant baptism, but some do, mainly what I call higher churchs, ones that have a higharchy type of leadership Baptism, Marriage, Communion, Ordination for Ministry by laying hands on and praying, Anointing the sick, and Foot Washing are what some would call Ordinances. Some would leave off foot washing, or anointing the sick. Commuinon is for those who have made Christ Lord, and been Baptized. Generally in a church setting the Pastor or Eldres, or Deacons administer the Bread and Cup. However there is nothing that says you can't have communion as a family with you or anyone who is a genuine Christian from doing the communion. Bible Study groups, Christian camps. and many different groups have celebrated this special Rememberance of our Lord Jesus Christ. I sincerely hope this helps you in growing in the Lord. Any thoughts or questions. |

483 | can nonchristian have a teachable spirit | John 3:16 | justme | 87147
Abijay: Welcome to the Forum! Good question. In John 3:16 In the middle of the verse it says "whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." The "whoever" means just that. All of us have been that "whoever" at one point before we made Jesus Christ our Lord. Yrs with the power of the Holy Spirit unbelievers can be teachable. Otherwise there would be no need to share the Gospel! Have any questions or thoughts? justme |

484 | God--the "loving Father" of whom? | John 3:16 | justme | 87141
JibbyJee: Good question. Most clearly not everyone has the LORD Almighty as their father. I can not presume to know who is predestined to be saved. In all honesty I keep that judgement for the LORD. Election and Predestination, to me are two poles going paralel in the same direction. There are some people who are clearly the children of devil, Hitler and the like, if you understand what I mean. Therefore one is able to be as blunt as Jesus was. However, there are examples of very wicked people repenting and turning to Christ. David is one we turn to establish that all infants are innocent and under grace. This brings us to a question of are we saved and then choose to reject Jesus? Is there such a thing as Christian nurture? Thoughts? justme |

485 | Someone who had never heard of Jesus... | John 3:16 | justme | 87128
akeffer82: Thanks for being honest that I missed the mark. You ask the question that is a concern for most thinking Christians, and I have had much dialogue on this. I personally have devoted what I believe to be a reasonable amount of study in relation to this question. First look at some scripture. John 1:9 Every one is said to have enlightenment that there is a God. Romans 1:18-21 makes it clear mankind is held responsible for the knowledge they do have. The invisable attributes are evedent for all of mankind, for all times, and ages, past, present and future. Mankind has been given moral judgement, to desern good and bad, right and wrong, some might call this consicence. We know within ourselves some things are sin, no one has to tell us. We are assured over and over Yehweh is a loving kind God. As well, Yehweh has the knowledge of how much enlightenment each Believer in the Lord Almighty has. The ultimate judge is Yehweh. Scripture is clear NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER BUT BY JESUS CHRIST, perhaps the person who never heard of Jesus Christ, will be given the chance. Only Yehweh knows a mans heart in this situation. The Bible says that a is person held accountable by the enlightenment they have, which is like a child who is not yet able to make the choice to reject Jesus Christ. As well I do say that scripture is not completly crystal clear on this subject. What is abundantly clear that Yehewh is fair and just, and with that we leave this in the hands of a loving Father. However as this subject is such a concern of a maturing Christian, this is the reason we need to be evangelistic in our everyday traffic pattern of life. Perhaps our voice is the last one that chould share JESUS CHRIST with a person who is near the end of this time on earth. This should be a very sobering thought for us all. Just so no one misunderstands me, I believe this is not a common situation, and ONLY The Lord knows the complete answer to this perplexing question. I am not the judge of anyones eternal life, I am deeply concerned that each of us endure in our faith until the end. I welcome any thoughts or imput, blessings. justme |

486 | Active Homosexuals: Truly Christian? | Rom 1:21 | justme | 87043
Hank: Greetings from the fine state above yours. I am not attempting to answer your question, but have a question for you. On the Bible Answer Man last week the founder of Exodus Ministry was Hanks guest. The question was asked what happens when a homosexual who confesses his or her, sin and repents and sometime later stumbles, and repents? Are they truely saved? That was the question asked on the radio. Their answer was that most do fall off the wagon. But they are encouraged to repent and confess 1 John 1:9. I my self think this is a question I do not have solid answers for. I do look at David and see some aspects of his life I find almost humanly unforgiveable, yet God said "he is a man after my heart". Could you please give me your opinion? Thank you and God Bless. justme |

487 | Heaven or Hell? | John 3:16 | justme | 87028
akeffer82: Thank you for your question. In John chapter 3 from verse 16 to the end of the Chapter it is very clear. God does not wish anyone to live eternity seperated from Him. However part of giving mankind the power to make choices on our own, and not on a basis of making us robots, free will has been given to all of us. If we so choose to reject Jesus Christ, God will not force His love on anyone. We are held accountable for either making Christ our Lord, or rejecting Gods love and salvation in Jesus Christ. So in a very direct way we do choose heaven or hell, don't we. I hope this is answering your question. If you want more dialogue I would be pleased to answer any questions or concerns. Blessings. justme |

488 | once saved always saved | John 10:28 | justme | 87008
jwj: Welcome to the forum! I did not reafd the other responses to your question, however this same question comes up rather frequently. There are many who are believers in aposty you can loose your salvation, and equally as many who believe in eternal security. I hold the Scriptual view in John chapter 10 that nothing can remove us from the Lords hand. Saying this I also say that faith that falters had a flaw in it from the first. Paul often reminds us to keep our eyes on the goal and not to look back. This is a blend of the two views and is Biblical based. Perhaps the main idea is to endure in steadfastness to Jesus Christ and the thought of ones faith being false is not a consideration. There are some believers are very defensive in the position, and so adomint that they will disfellowship one another if they cand win over the other person to their view point. This is not a point of doctrine to brake fellowship over. Any thoughts? justme |

489 | Gender?? | Deut 6:4 | justme | 86796
petethemate: Fantastic question, and you have brought out a good response from the Forum. The LORD Almighity is YHWH in Hebrew. In some English Bibles the YHWH is translated YEHWEH. YEHWEH says that the personality of Yahweh is like a mother hen, showing a very lovinf nurturing Lord, and YEHWEH also shows a very strong protector. Neither male or female is YEHWEH, yet shows the very best of both male and female trates. Consider that YAHWEH made both male and female in the very image of YAHWEH. In translating this to humanity Scripture was given in the forms we cand understand, male and female termology. I hope this helps and nor messes up the understanding of others who have given their views. Any thoughts? justme |

490 | romantic word listed in songs of solomon | Bible general Archive 1 | justme | 86637
nexgen: Why? I am assuming you know you know how to read, by the fact you can use a keyboard. There are several words that mean little by them selves, but when put in a sentence together they represent very romantic and intimate expressions of a loving husband and wife. I think I have said enough to answer your question, however is would help to ask questions in a complete sentence, as you are a little hard to understand. Blessings justme |

491 | Why does NIV OMIT verses in KJV? | Acts 8:37 | justme | 86636
GeorJoy: The KJV was translated as a word for word, as best they could with the best manuscripts they had at the time. The NIV is a Dynamic Equivlant translation. Which means it translates thought for thought. Wycliff, and New tribes Ministries all use this method in getting the Scripture into peoples native tongue. In some languages ther are no words to say exactally what the manuscripts say. For example ther are at least four words for love in the Greek, and only one word in English. So a longer wording of the thought behind the word is used in translating the word love. The NIV is a good version, and very good merit for a thought for thought translation. Having said that I like the Updated NASB best of all. That's just my opinion, and I do not work for Lockman, so this is just how I see it. All translations have some small problems, as there is no "perfect" translation, because mankind is not perfect and no language fits exactlly word for word. You can have confidence that any mistakes are so small that there is nothing that changes the doctrine of Salvation by Jesus Christ and Him only! Hope this added information helps. justme |

nexgen: Welcome to the forum! I think if you were to elaborate more on what information you are seeking with a complete sentence more forum members could better respond to you. Right now this question is pretty non specfic as to where in Scripture you are wanting information. Perhaps no other book is as romantic as SONG OF SOLOMON, you might read that and see if that's what you were asking for. Blessings and peace. justme |

494 | handling relationships as a Christian | Matthew | justme | 85985
gab: Welcome to the Forum! Scripture says not to be unequally yoked. Paul in several places, as well as the writer of Hebrews, points out that those who do not continue in the faith, were not really in the faith from the begining. As this is not a "Dear Abby" forum, any advice that is not based on solid scripture is unfounded. In reading your question, I think you know the answer already. You have a deep lever of emotional investment and a history with "your partner" and this makes it difficult to leave. Many a marriages have lasted for several years and got to the point you are, and I am sure they would wish they had walked away before they made such a bad choice. I believe God is aware of your situation, and will lead you through this, if you allow Him to do so. Now gab, it is all up to your being willing to be obedient to the Word of God. I pray you God's peace and blessings. justme |

495 | 18 yr old son seeing 27 yr old - HELP!! | Prov 7:6 | justme | 85595
EyOADove: This is a problem that you need your Pastors help with. If this were your daughter who was 18 and it was a man with a child and he was 27 what would you do? If he lives under your roof he either abides by the house rules or there are consequences! He is 18 and by now he pretty much sets his own mind on what he can do. Have you gone and talked with this woman? I sympathize with you, and this is not a healthy relationship for sure. I kind of wonder if this is not a sexual thing he believes like the movies teach sex brings love. I hope it has not gone that far, but odds are it has. I would not take much time to bring this to some clear understanding. At 18 he is pretty much legally able to do as he wishes. Get some pastoral involvement to help him listen, because he most likely is not listening to you. justem |

496 | what will happen to us? | 1 Cor 15:51 | justme | 85383
jbw: Well pardner, it's time after 121 posts for you to head up yonder and fill out the Update User Info. We know nothing about you, except what you have writen. Take a few moments and share something that you would like to tell about your self. Look at other names and read their profiles to get some ideas. I for one an not a "Left Behind" follower. I take Matthew 24 and follow that. I frankly do not agree that Christians won't suffer tribulation, infact many are suffering as we sit typing our hearts out, while debating if Christians will go through the tribulation. I do respect those who hold that view, but I refuse to support the endless pop endtime studies and fiction of the "Left Behind" endless book series. I am sure these books have made mega millions for the authors and the publishers. Why read this made up fiction and some Bible, when we have the real genuine sayings of Jesus? Any thoughts? justme |

497 | Thanks to God? | Ps 30:12 | justme | 85249
Ray: I thank God every time I see you have writen a note or question. I appreciate the update on your health you put in your profile. I have found great comfort in Psalm 139, Romans 8, and 2 Corinthians 12. I was told last Friday I have the same cancer as you. I am not a canadate for surgery, due to my poor health, too many risks. So I start radition next week. My Pastor and Elders prayed and anointed me last might. All I pray for is to be on the Lords direct will for my life. With that I am just wher he wants me to be. Now brother Ray we can pray for each other with deeper empathy. I too feel pretty good considering, and find it easy to forget the seriousness of it all. I am allowing the Lord to make me weak so His striength shows through me. Blessings my dear brother Ray. justme |

498 | What is the purpose of the anointing? | Bible general Archive 1 | justme | 85107
Elijahprophet:Welcome to the Forum! You choose an interesting name, is there something prophetic about the name? I read the other notes about anointing. In James 5:13-15 this refers to anointing the sick who are believers. There is nothing special about the oil, or the Elders prayers, or evnen the sick. This is an outward act of obedience of the Elders, the one who is anointed, asking for the LORDS healing. The healing person may experience physical death but the person is healed in the presents of the Lord, or it may be the Lords will to be to be physically healed, here and now. I find your question especially timely, as tonight my elders are anointing me, as I have just been told I have cancer. So I speak in that which I will have first hand knowledge. Blessings to you, enjoy the forum. justme |

499 | What is "Hope"? | 2 Corinthians | justme | 85103
InHisService: Welcome to the Forum! You ask a very fine question. I wonder how many of us "hope" in prayer, missing what we are to hope for. I think hope may have many definations for many people. In 2 Corinthians 12:7-10, I am positive Paul hoped for the thorn in his flesh to be removed. The Lord knew what His will for Paul was. Often we pray for what we hope for rather than for Gods direct will in a situation or something we need or want. I believe in praying for the direct will of God, and in that I am sure to get the correct answer. There is no way to manipulate God. Faith and hope are often the two sides of the same coin. Paul hoped for removal of his thorn in the flesh, but by faith he was able to overcome his weakness by Gods powerful Grace. Paul learned contentment with his weakness so that for Christ's sake he became strong. I believe this is a lesson that takes a lifetime of walking close with the Master, Jesus Christ, to learn and to apply in our daily lives. As for specfics I encourage you to ask in hope of being in line with the Lords will. There are few in the forum that have serious health problems. We Hope for healing, we pray in faith that the Lords will is done in their lives, and it shall be. I have hope all my grown children will live a close walk with the Lord Jesus. I am very specfic with this prayer. In Faith I give their lives over to the Lord. The key is each of my adult children have freedom of choice. They can follow the Lords leading or not. I pray in faith they do. I can say I see God work in ways I never dreame possible. I have prayed about transpertation needs, material wants, and physical comforts. I have many times asked amiss. Many times the answer was far better than I had hoped for. I have faith that the Lord knows His will for me. Psalm 139 goes into very clear detail as to how well the Lord know me, and knows what is the very best for me, and you as well. I hope this is helpful, and blessings to you. Enjoy the Forum! justme |

500 | Christians? | John 3:16 | justme | 85093
jstrood: Welcome to the Forum! The truthful answer is only the Lord God Amighty knows for sure not only of these kind of peoples heart, but ours as well. I do think John 3:16 is basic, and comes from the lips of Jesus Christ. This topic has been many times brought up in the Forum. Should you like to view these past posts you can type in the search box (in the upper right) eternal security. The reading will worth you while, and you will get a jest of many thoughts on the subject. My position is "faith that falters had a flaw from the first". I believe Scripture teaches a genuinely born again believer can not become lost again. That in turn goes along with my satatement as well. Blessings to you and enjoy the forum! justme |
