361 | The Sovereignty of God | Ps 103:19 | justme | 124775
Hank: I am not sure that the sovereignty of God is not being taught or preached. I realy have not much to judge this by. Our Pastor does teach this and other pastors before him as well. I personally would not go to a church that did not teach a complete theology of the Bible. Perhaps if more Christians either made a strong imput to their pastor about this it would help. Perhaps when pastors are told this, and no change is made, it's time to go where the complete Word is taught. Any thoughts? Justme |

362 | "beheading" in modern times? | Rev 20:4 | justme | 124772
Pastor Glenn: Good to hear from you! You make a very good point for us to take very serious. I believe Christians may well have to suffer beyond what many Christians are prepared to endure. Mainly becaus many teach Christians won't suffer tribulation. I for one don't see that this si what Jesus said in Matthew 25. I believe Jesus warned us that these suffering will come and it is "still yet to come". Suffering can take many forms. As I write this I have blood clots in my right leg and both lungs. I am suffering, but not because I am a Christian, because I am human and have a sinful nature. I would be pleased if you remembered me in your prayers. Blessings Glenn. justme |

363 | left behind | Dan 9:24 | justme | 124308
Paw: The current "left behind" theology is in my opinion hard pressed to back up Biblically. The many ongoing collection of books are all located in the "Fiction" department of ALL book store, does that tell you anything? I suggest you read very carefully Matthew 24. Chart everything Jesus said. I am positive you will find that "left behind" theology is not inline with what Jesus said. Not it will be up to you to decided for your self. If you believe what Jesus said, no one will be "beft behind". hen Jesus comes then comes the judgement. There are no second chances. Blessings. justme |

364 | What is your take on Westcott and Hort? | Bible general Archive 2 | justme | 124306
Mark: This is pure poppycock! Westcott and Hort, have been so badly slandered it makes me ill. They had NOTHING to do that proves the garbage that missunformed Christian have repeated over and over and this lie has become gossip. You can use your search engine and go to Alpha and Omegis Ministry, Dr. James White, whom I went to college with, has this completly documented and you can download all the information you need. Nothing id more offensive than a ignorant Christian who refuses to see and believe the TRUTH, and continues to spread false information. This to me is a bad testimony. I for one believe cars are good and I drive one. But some still use horse and buggy and in 1611. Why sould anyone insist the King Jimmy is the best? Only those who choose to remain ignorant, unless they just love the KJV for its special language and it speaks to them. That is much different than being a KJV only cultist. Blessings. justme |

365 | Why need of endurance? | John 6:44 | justme | 123753
Knuckelhead: I have to wonder why you choose such a name. Adding some food for thought I offer the following. We are saved, but the word implys a continual action. We are being saved. If I say to you I an going to go to California, and will arrive on a certian day, and I start the trip, then I am on my to Califorina. I am not in California yet, I an on my way. If I endure to the end of my travel I can say I made it to California. As long as I am on my way I an bound for California I am on my way. Christians are to endure and stay the couse keeping my eyes fixed on the Lord Jesus Christ. That is the promise that I am sealed and my genuine faith in Jesus assures me I will be saved, and I am being constantle saved. There is no way to become lost when I am a genuine born again believer, trusting in, abiding in Jesus Christ. Anyone who does not endure, abide, enter into relationship with jesus Christ is not saved. Proof of ones salvation is our endurance. Many are they who say Jesus is their Lord, infact are only playing at being a follower of Jesus. I once heard this and it wise to repeat. Faith that faulters had a flaw from the first. Yes I believe in eternal security with no room for doubts. I also know that only Jesus know for sure those who belong genuinely to Him. Endurance is part of Christ's keeping power of our souls, as our responsibility is to grow and know Him and abiding in Him. To those who would say this is an easy task to explain endurance or eternal security, I would caution that this has been a longly debated subject that has divided Christians from fellowship, caused fights and caused many church splits. Better by far that each of us concentrate on becoming so close to Jesus, that our lives so reflect the presents of Christ, that there can be no doubt we are abiding and residing completly in Christ. With such a walk in Christ there is no reason to even bring up endurance or eternal security. What are your thoughts? justme |

366 | Is the Noahic covenant still in force? | Isaiah | justme | 122936
Moby Dick: Good question. Before Noah's time the earth had not experienced rain. The earth was in a canopy that kept moisture like a big sparklets water bottle, in which you plant and put soil and water then put a seal in the opening. These conditions will allow the plants to grow and never need replentishing. The Lord Almighty Holy Father, gave the Rainbow as a promise to never flood the whole earth again. The promise is still in effect today. We no longer have a canopy, thus the rainbow. As for being covenant, perhaps, but I would say more like a everlasting promise. Hope this helps. Blessings. justme |

367 | Is speaking in tongues a necessity ? | Acts 2:4 | justme | 122037
Jilliebean: The answer you received from jcsav is the view of most who are involved with the Word of Faith movement. This movement is filled with false teachings and intertwined with othodox Christian doctrin. The Word of Faith movement has such profound false theachers as Benny Hinn Kenneth Copland and Kenneth Haggen, just to name a few of these detestable saints of satan. No where is sain in the spirit a Biblical response recorded. Toungues are a "gift" not something to be asked for! Rarely will you see the "tongues" used as Scripture says it is to be used. I wish as many people desired the gift of helps or giving. But most want to experience something rather than do something that is not seen by others. My kind advice is to seek the greatest "gift" which is love. justme |

368 | Peace...? | 2 Tim 2:15 | justme | 121806
Zsuzsi: I wish you had filled out your personal profile, as I would have some idea who I was addressing. I believe we have some basic theological differences, which are not worth dialoguing about because there are huge gaps in our understanding of what being called requires. I find it most interesting that several of you have answered about your feelings for "ourfathersheart" but this person has not responded himself. I wonder why that is? I will admit what is of concern for me, why do you and others stand behind and defend someone wanting to ordain and grant a degree to persons, that he is not legally or Spiritually authorized to do so? As for the "Lone Ranger Christian" let me elaborate. Where in Scripture do you find a Biblical New Testament leader working by themself? Not even Jesus ministered alone. I know there is a strong Biblical support for this basic principal. Might I suggest that Paul, in Romans 14:22 says "...Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves." Perhaps in ignorance, but you have approved of some very serious errors in "ourfathersheart's" response. As I do not know you Christian maturity, or age, or anything about you, I excuse your error in judgement and your response. For added imformation, by posting to me, your response does not automaticly mean anyone else will read it, except by chance they read this thread. I have attempted to be respectful, and kind. I sincerely hope the Lords blessing on you. justme |

369 | Called According To HIS Purpose-Ministry | 2 Tim 2:15 | justme | 121656
ourfathersheart: I am not so bold as to tell you that God did not call you as a "minister" (my word which carries a better discription is "sevvant"). I am wondering how you heard the the LORD directly speek to you. Was it in a voice as you and I have or an inner voice? I do not doubt the Lord God Almighty does speak, I do like to hear how different people hear the LORD. My personal belief is that to ordain a seventeen year old is a serious error. I mean no offense, but how did you prove that your walk in the Lord was firmly established? Did you have sufficant knowledge of Scripture to understand and communicate election, predestition, and so on and so forth? What "mainstream Christian Church" ordained you, if you feel you would be willing to say? I am not challenging any church that wants to ordain someone. I do believe that ordaination is a very special confermation by the Church of the call of God on the person being ordained. I do believe in the priesthood of the believer and the church body in which a person belongs to. However, the call of and ordaination of a person by a church does not mean that others will agree with a persons servanthood until others see a life that clearly shows the person has been called to serve others in Christ Jesus. Would you not agree? You have not said how old you are now, and to assume how long ago you were 17 would be unwise. How long age was your ordaination? My belief is one should be Spiritually, emotionally, and mentlally sound, and solid, and only time allows for this experience. One area I do find fault in your statement is that you are indeed accountable to more than God! Let me assure you are responsible to those whom you minister (serve) to. You understanding that God calls and chooses, is right to a point. Without the recognization of the church body that you have a true call from God, then a call is not validated, and thus the call may be of ones personal feelings rather than a true call of God. In other words the body of believers confirms the call of God. Would you agree with this? I know of where I speak in these matters, not by just reading or watching, but by experience. I was ordained by the Southern Baptist Church I served as Pastor while in Seminary. I later served an Americam Baptist Church, which had more requirements for my ordaination to be acceptable for this denomination, and they wanted a detailed statement of my theology from creation to the end times, and everything inbewteen! There was a time of mentoring and further seminary classes required. I am confident that this was a time of growth and proving not only to my fellow servants, but to myself as well. I feel I aam still accountable to those who comfirmed my servanthood, and to the Lord who directed my path. The call of God to become a servant, for me has not been a path of glory for me, the reality is the walk of faith is a rough path, and it's not a path for those who are faint at heart, or for those seek to be praised, or to be served. I have observed that few are the pastors who visit in the peoples homes, go to the sick or visit those in jail. "Minister" is not a title, this word describes a person who is willing to become a slave to Christ and a servant to humankind. I would be interested in your thoufgts. Blessings. justme |

371 | Ordaining Others... | 2 Tim 2:15 | justme | 121583
ourfathersheart: For whatever reason, for which I personally have some very serious doubt about, you claim to have been "minister" from age 17? Might I ask, by whom were you ordained into the ministry? What group of believers so recognized your calling from God? Who laid hands on you and set you aside as a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ? These questions may seem unimportant, but they do serve a purpose. Unless a group who is established as a religious body, and duely authorized to legally make someone a "minister", your legal status as a minister is likely unvalid. Most established churches require a period of proving ones self to be set aside as a minister. This is quite Biblical. Most usually this cermony of becoming a minister is for the most part called "ordination". One must be "ordained" inorder to take ssomeone under their watchcare to train a person to become a "minister". Ordination and granting degrees are TOTALLY two different aspects of ministery. One is a function of the church, the other a function of an educating school. There is no easy to become a "servant" of Jesus Christ! In the world of today overflowing with so many uneducated false teachers, who are doing exactlly as it seems you were hinting of perhaps doing, this just is not Gods will!!!! There are Ordained people in this forum, and many with Master of Divinity degrees. Some with ever higher learning degrees than that. I do not equate srirituallity with having a degree, however the chances of a person willing to do spiritual study and learning to do ministry in a very serious mannor increase the chances for a better "minister". There is no "short cuts" to God, or becoming a "minister". I strongly warn you not to be a "lone ranger" in "ordaining" or giving a "degree" to anyone. Unless you are authorized to do so. Should you do so you have become like those in the in The Word of Faith Movement which is in my opinion a cult from the pit of hell! If as your pen name says you have "our fathers heart", I believe you will understand what I have said. justme |

372 | Searching for the truth | Bible general Archive 2 | justme | 118503
FytRobert: May I extend to you my sincere understanding, of you most likely feel. To be slam-dunked by edged remarks is not where I come from, or was taught by Scripture, how Christians are to treat oneanother. To your question. How I understand you, is that by "points" is which pleases God most? Am I on the right path so far? I hope so. I have wondered at times which was most importand prayer or reading the Bible. I am no different than most men who are considered Senior Citizens, at least I hope not anyway. I admit there are times that Bible reading is not easy due to my mood or personal pressures or sin. There are times I don't want to pray, and it might be that I was curt with my wife and that stiffles prayer, believe you me it does. So my answer is it all depends. I do think prayer is personal comunication that is vital for being able to read the Bible, so God can speak to me. Then if my heart is not right before God, then Bible reading most likely would not be as much value to me, as I see it anyway. My Grandchildren say I am old as dirt, and at times I feel like it. However I think my feelings and response to God and His Word is as fresh as the day I ask Christ to be my LORD. I still marvel at the Grace and abundant overflowing Mercy He blesses me with. I am very undeserving, yet He is Faithful, and Steadfast in loving kindness to us all. I hope this encourages you, to know, many are like you and are growing day by day, with errors in our ways and seeking to be renewed each second by the might of the Holy Spirit, in the Power of Jesus Christ, by the Holy Father. Amen and Amen!!!!!!! justme |

373 | What do you like about the church? | Eph 2:22 | justme | 118051
Rowdy: May I be nitpicky? None of the items "help us go to Heaven." The items you listed are things we use in worshiping and renewing, and growing in maturity in Christ Jesus. What I like about the "church is the worshiping of our Lord Jesus as a group of Christians we call the "church" or "Body" Nothing depends as much as my attitude in Worshiping the LORD. 375 | benny and oral | Matt 7:22 | justme | 117237
May I suggest you read Oral Roberts exDaughter in laws book "Ashes to Gold" by Patty Roberts. I am sure her words will have a greater impact than anything I could say. If her book does not sent you into tears, then nothing will. To more directly answer your question, Hinn and Oral ate branches off the same tree of health and welfare gospel. Which is a false understanding of the teachings of TRUE Christianity. In other words both Hinn and Oral are false teachers. Did you ever hear how Oral said if the people did not send him so much money by a certian date God was going to take him home? God extended the time several times. I am not sure he ever got all he needed. Some how God spared him? This was pure lies from the pit of hell!!!!! Think about it. justme |

376 | Benny hinn?? | Matt 7:22 | justme | 116823
onewaytriple7: Kalos has given you very substancial information on Benny Hinn. You could not ask for a better answer. I might add that Hinn stated that in 1995 ALL homosexuals would die. Himm also said Jesus would be on stage with Hinn in the flesh. Now these are pretty dynamic statements and to say these are direct from the Lord, and then these things did not happen. Either Hinn lied and is a flase teacher, or God failed miserably. I personally believe God can not lie. So what conclusion can we draw? Hinn is a flase teacher, who lies, and may well be a teacher from the evil one. I wonder what you think now? I encourage you to be leary of healings, casting out demons, and promises of health, wealth, and getting God to do as you want. Blessings. justme |

377 | Have you posted as John Reformed? | 1 Cor 12:10 | justme | 115614
Medchill: May I suggest that this is a situation that is best left to those who have first hand experience on the issue and problem that existed sometime before you joined the forum. I think by asking John to respond to you with such personal information was unfair, and a little wanting him to bleed a little more. I would, If I were he. look at your proflie information and them answer ONLY if you had told us something about yourself. Now that's not required, but it is one way to let others know you are more than a pen name, is'nt it? To answer your question for what ever reason or motive you had, he has had two pen names. There has been som confusion about this. I personaly several years ago first signed in as "farout" Thsi name brought out a understanding that I might be "farout" in my theology. I carefully reconsidered after about 800 posts and WITH Lockmans approval, and me posting it for a good amount of time on my profile, I changed my pen name to "justme". I made no attempt to keep it undercover, no did I jump back in the forum because I was asked to leave. I made the change to show I was approchable. I think when this name changing happens it needs to be VERY OPEN, no misunderstandings whatsoever. I also believe that unless I participate and show something about myself it hampers the best response to questions and openess to me as a person. Blessings. justme |

JaunMas: I refer to whole chapters as that way I am not lifting things out of context, and anything can be used to make a point. I think it best to make the point in it's complete setting so large concepts are illumated. I am refereing mailmy to verses 15-20. However if you read on perter asks how often should we forgive a brother? this is all relational to becoming stumbling blocks toward "little ones" which can be children as well new babies in Christ. I hope this helps. justme |

jct: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum! I read your profile and your honesty and desire to grow in your relationship with God is refreshing. Most people in their sixties don't look for God they are running from Him. You are not alone in your journey. May I suggest you get a Bible you can understand . The NIV Study Bible or the NIV Life Application Bible are very good and will offer you some real important helps to understanding the Bible. That is where I would begin. May I suggest you find a Bible believing church, and the sermons will also make things to help you know and grow. I hope you find growth and the Lord Jesus that is drawing you to him.
