41 | why is sacrifice the means to salvation? | 2 Cor 5:21 | prazn | 91434
Parable, Sorry that my response didn't answer your question. Since God is the only Being who can absolve a person of their sins, I would have thought that His words, declaring that there can be no remission of sin, without the shedding of blood, would be enough. You may be familiar with the saying, "God said it, I believe it and that settles it!" Perfect understanding of the "whys" of Gods ways is a noble endeavor. However, we mustn't forget that God's ways are higher than our ways, as are His thoughts. I pray that you get the answer that you're seeking. Peace, prazn |

42 | trust, openness, relationships | Ps 27:10 | prazn | 91306
By trusting in the only One who is worthy of your trust. The Lord has promised to never leave us or forsake us. The people in our lives cannot be relied upon to fulfill all of our needs. However, the Lord still commands us to love others. The only way to do that is to yield to His Spirit and to allow the spirit within you to mature you so that you are able to trust and to love people more; even the people who spitefully use you. prazn |

43 | why is sacrifice the means to salvation? | 2 Cor 5:21 | prazn | 91302
Hi Parable, I pray that you won't take offense at my posting a response to the question that you posed to Pastor Glenn; you've asked a good question! The Bible says, "...the wages of sin is death..." In other words, our God, who is Holy and therefore hates sin, requires that it be paid for by the shedding of blood, or the taking of life (i.e., death). Specifically, Lev 17:11 states: 'For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood by reason of the life that makes atonement.' The blood of animals could no longer make atonement for the sin of man. So, God chose the perfect, sinless Lamb of God (Jesus) to make atonement for the sins of all mankind. Hope this helps! Blessings! prazn |

44 | Rom 3:11 and Hebrews 11:6 ???? | John 3:16 | prazn | 89262
The text that you reference in Romans 3 is a quotation from the Psalms. Specifically: Ps 14:1 The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, they have committed abominable deeds; There is no one who does good. Ps 14:2 The LORD has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men To see if there are any who understand, Who seek after God. Ps 14:3 They have all turned aside, together they have become corrupt; There is no one who does good, not even one. Please notice that the psalmist is referring to those who do not believe that there is a God. I believe that Hebrews 11:6 is referring to those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and have had their spirits quickened (i.e., made alive) to commune or fellowship with God. Hope this helps! prazn |

I am concerned about many of you who post in this forum. It seems that quite a few of you have a religion, but no relationship with our Lord. Some of you even profess to be "believers", but I wonder whether you are truly saved. Examine yourself, friend. Are you a born-again believer? Have you believed that the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins so that you may have eternal life? John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. Have you confessed Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? Rom 10:9 if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; Rom 10:10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. Have you acknowledged that Jesus, and Jesus alone, can save you (not good works, not studying the Bible, not going to church every Sunday)? Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; Eph 2:9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. If you have not asked Jesus Christ to forgive you and to save you from your sins, you are not saved. I urge you to call 1-888-NEEDHIM so that someone can agree with you, in prayer, for your salvation. God bless you, prazn |

46 | Peace with Cancer | Phil 4:7 | prazn | 88244
It was never my intention to imply that our Lord is a "Sugar Daddy". The Lord cannot be manipulated by anyone. However, why not ask the Lord for healing? He may very well be willing to heal. He is certainly "able"! The Lord's will cannot be activated (i.e., manifested) in the earth except by the prayers of the saints. Wouldn't it be a shame to die, needlessly (before our appointed time) because we never exercised our faith in the Lord? Yes, we may be present with the Lord, following your physical death. But, what about the "work" that the Lord may have planned to continue doing in us and through us. The Lord is always growing us in our faith. Why would Jesus tells us that if we had faith to tell a mountain to be removed, that it would be cast into the sea? Why is faith such an important key to living this life on earth? Because we have a very real enemy, who seeks to "steal, kill and destroy". Why roll over for a defeated foe? The Lord does not cause our illnesses; our sins and the devil cause us to experience poor health! And, though He does not cause it, the Lord will use illness to grow our faith in Him!!! Eph 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Eph 6:11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. Eph 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Eph 6:13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Eph 6:14 Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, Eph 6:15 and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; Eph 6:16 in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Eph 6:17 And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Eph 6:18 With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints, Peace! prazn |

47 | fact or literary device? | Gen 18:21 | prazn | 88076
Almighty God is all-knowing. When you're reading a verse, it is important to note the context of that verse. The Lord was not speaking to Himself, in verse 21; Abraham was present. What the Lord revealed, in Abraham's hearing, enabled God to test Abraham's heart. As a result, Abraham interceded for the city. God will not override the will of man, except someone intercede for them. Intercession, or prayer, releases God's will into the earth. Ezek 22:30 "I searched for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before Me for the land, so that I would not destroy it; but I found no one. Ezek 22:31 "Thus I have poured out My indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of My wrath; their way I have brought upon their heads," declares the Lord GOD. The destruction that the Lord speaks of in these verses is His judgement on the people of Judah, who were sent into captivity for their disobedience to God. Hope this helps. prazn |

48 | Peace with Cancer | Phil 4:7 | prazn | 88040
What is the harm in believing that the Lord is able to heal and is willing to heal? I don't understand how a child of God could ever lose hope in Jesus. There is a girl in my church who received a "bad" report from her doctor (i.e., cancer). She doesn't even look 30 years old, yet. She immediately went to the Lord, in prayer, and asked for His diagnosis. He told her that she would be o.k. So, rejecting her first doctor's report, she sought a second opinion. The second doctor could find no trace of cancer in her body. Was the first diagnosis wrong? Or, was she miraculously healed by the time that she went to the second doctor? God only knows! We must keep our "eyes" on Jesus. And, unless He tells us that He is not willing to heal us (as He did with the apostle Paul) continue to fight the "good fight of faith" and believe that He will heal us. "Nothing shall be impossible for him who believes." God bless you! prazn |

51 | Peace with Cancer | Phil 4:7 | prazn | 88030
I've never battled the horrific disease of cancer, but I, as all other Christians do (at one time or another), suffer from infirmities that threaten to shake my faith in God. Though I may not see the outward manifestation of my healing; I believe that the Lord is able to heal me and I will never stop believing that. He may not be willing to heal me, according to my timetable, but He is the Great Physician, so I chose to stand on His word. "Though He slay me, I will hope in Him." Job 13:15 His plans are "to prosper me and not to harm me, to give me a future and a hope." And, if I die in the torment of my affliction, I will also die in faith believing that He wanted to heal me. Jesus is the same, yesterday, today and forever: Matt 9:22 But Jesus turning and seeing her said, "Daughter, take courage; your faith has made you well." At once the woman was made well. Mark 5:34 And He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace and be healed of your affliction." Mark 10:52 And Jesus said to him, "Go; your faith has made you well." Immediately he regained his sight and began following Him on the road. Luke 7:50 And He said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you; go in peace." Luke 8:48 And He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace." Luke 17:19 And He said to him, "Stand up and go; your faith has made you well." Luke 18:42 And Jesus said to him, "Receive your sight; your faith has made you well." Peace! prazn |

52 | Whose will causes a believer to sin? | Rev 13:8 | prazn | 88026
Forgive me, I haven't been following this strand, so my post may be repetitive or incongruent with the general pattern of thought. God's Word says: "...for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure." -Phil 2:13 "...it [God's mercy] does not depend on the man who wills or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy. For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, "FOR THIS VERY PURPOSE I RAISED YOU UP, TO DEMONSTRATE MY POWER IN YOU, AND THAT MY NAME MIGHT BE PROCLAIMED THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE EARTH." So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires. You will say to me then, "Why does He still find fault? For who resists His will?" On the contrary, who are you, O man, who answers back to God? The thing molded will not say to the molder, "Why did you make me like this," will it? Or does not the potter have a right over the clay, to make from the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for common use? What if God, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction? And He did so to make known the riches of His glory upon vessels of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory, even us, whom He also called, not from among Jews only, but also from among Gentiles." -Romans 9:16-24 just food for thought, prazn |

53 | Peace with Cancer | Phil 4:7 | prazn | 87981
Please don't allow doubt and unbelief to keep you and/or your friend from believing that our Lord is able to heal whomever he pleases, whenever He pleases. The Lord God Almighty (Jehova Rophe: my Healer) is able to heal your friend!!! Mark 6:1, records that Jesus went to His own hometown, where the people doubted His ability to heal. Verses 5-6 record, "And He could do no miracle there except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them. And He wondered at their unbelief." Do you recall that David (the man after God's own heart) fasted and prayed for his dying son (the son who was born to him through his affair with Bathsheba)? In 2 Samuel 12:22 David explains, "While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept; for I said 'Who knows, the Lord may be gracious to me, that the child may live'" What harm can come from believing for your friend and encouraging him to believe, as well. The Word of God tells us: "without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him." Hebrews 11:6 "...let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But he must ask in faith without any doubting," James 1:5-6 "Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen." Eph. 3:20-21 Keep the faith!!! prazn |

I am sorry to hear about your friend. I pray that the Lord will restore his health. In the meantime, the following Scriptures will help: Phil 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Phil 4:7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. In other words, your friend should pray to the Lord about every concern or anxious thought. 1 Peter 5:7 to cast all of our cares (anxieties) upon the Lord because He cares for us. He should fill his mind with pleasant thoughts, including scriptures (especially the Psalms) that specifically address "healing" (e.g., Ps 6:2, Ps. 30:2, 42:11, Ps. 103:2, Ps. 107:20, Ps. 147:3). 2 Cor 13:11 Finally, brethren, rejoice, be made complete, be comforted, be like-minded, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you. Peace in Christ! prazn |

59 | A.D. and B.C. | Is 61:2 | prazn | 87872
Time began when God created the heavens and the earth. Time, which began with the creation of the earth until Christ's birth, is referred to as B.C. The time since Christ's birth is commonly referred to as A.D. Hence, B.C. means "before Christ". A.D. stands for "anno Domini" (latin), which means "the year of our Lord". When Jesus began His ministry on earth, He quoted the following, from the prophet Isaiah: Is 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, Because the LORD has anointed me To bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to captives And freedom to prisoners; Is 61:2 To proclaim the favorable year of the LORD. His purpose in quoting the prophet was to proclaim that the prophecy was being fulfilled through Him. Notice that the Lord did not recite the remaining words in Is 61:2, concerning vengeance. That is because the Lord will not judge mankind until He returns to the earth a second time. God bless you! prazn |

60 | Is a 14 day Passover proper? | 2 Chr 30:23 | prazn | 87862
It's difficult to answer your question without knowing the motivation behind it. Is it wrong to celebrate (i.e., worship) Almighty God and all that He has done for us, for more than 30 minutes during a church service? Or, is it wrong to worship Almighty God (our Lord Jesus Christ)for more than 10 minutes a day? I think not, especially considering that God Almighty has forgiven us our sins (passed over us), simply because we believe in the atoning power of the precious blood of Jesus (i.e, the sinless Lamb of God). We were created to worship the Lord. Oftentimes, we get so "stuck" in our religious rituals and traditions that we miss out on the movement of the Holy Spirit within us and a marvelous time of fellowship and intimacy with our Lord. Jesus tells us, in John 4:23, "But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers." I pray this helps! prazn |
