21 | why is worship hard | John 4:23 | prazn | 122472
Worship is not hard if you know (have an intimate relationship with) the Lord! If it's easy to to shower your spouse with love and affection, because it pleases that person, why not our Risen Savior?!? Worship is a "lifestyle". It's not a Sunday only practice. Worship is a way of being (i.e., surrendered 24/7 to the will of God as revealed through His Holy Spirit). If you don't "know" the Lord intimately, I encourage you to seek Him with all of your heart. Express your hearts desire to know Him. Express your thankfulness for all that He has done, is doing and will do in your life. blessings, prazn |

22 | sheila, why pray for a lesser gift? | Gal 3:28 | prazn | 122454
Sheila, 1 Cor 14:2 states, "For one who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God; for no one understands, but in his spirit he speaks mysteries." If tongues are intended to be spoken solely among unbelievers so that they may understand the mysteries of God in their own language, why does Paul say, in the verse quoted above, that tongues are not spoken to men, but to God? peace, prazn |

24 | sheila, why pray for a lesser gift? | Gal 3:28 | prazn | 122410
Those of you who question the necessity or usefulness of speaking in tongues, do you do so out of a spirit of love and with an interest in learning more about the gift? Or, are you only interested in defending your position (i.e., being right). What harm can come from speaking in tongues? The Apostle Paul spoke in tongues. I am grateful for the gifts (whether lesser or greater) that the Holy Spirit has graciously bestowed upon me. Please don't look down your nose at others who have the gift, just because you don't. Please don't thumb your nose at a gift that you neither understand or desire. peace, prazn |

25 | speaking in tongues out of context | John 4:23 | prazn | 122407
Assuming that the other members of the congregation are truly worshipping in spirit and in truth, how is it possible that they can be disrupted by anything or any one other than Almighty God? When we are truly caught up in the worship experience (adoring our risen Savior) there is simply no time or motivation to see or hear other worshippers. |

26 | speaking in tongues | NT general Archive 1 | prazn | 122034
Ken John, There are many (thousands, if not millions) of churches in existence, around this world, today whose congregants speak in tongues. The Holy Spirit still gifts certain children of God to speak in tongues. When one speaks in tongues he, or she, is speaking to God with his spirit. The gift does nothing to edify the church (unless interpreted), but builds up the spirit of the one speaking. You many want to consider visiting a Pentecostal/Apostolic church sometime soon!?! blessings! prazn |

27 | Why is the devil released after 1,000 yr | Rev 20:8 | prazn | 121992
Scripture states that the devil will be released, after the millenial reign of the Lord Jesus Christ, to deceive the nations and to gather them to wage war against the inhabitants of Jerusalem (Zech 12:9). In this final conflict, which is prophesied to take place in the valley of Megiddo (Zech 12:11), the devil is at last cast into the lake of fire and those who remain on earth will worship the King of Kings, our Lord Jesus Christ! Glory to God in the Highest! Amen! and, Amen! prazn |

30 | speaking in tongues | NT general Archive 1 | prazn | 121986
In his epistle to the church at Corinth, the Apostle Paul makes it clear that speaking in tongues are : 1) a means by which man communicates to God; 1 Cor 14:2 For one who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God; for no one understands, but in his spirit he speaks mysteries. 2) a means by which the spirit of a man prays to God; 1 Cor 14:14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. 3) a means by which the spirit of the individual is edified (i.e., built up); 1 Cor 14:4 One who speaks in a tongue edifies himself; 4) another Spiritual gift for which present-day believers should thank the Lord. 1 Cor 14:18 I thank God, I speak in tongues more than you all; blessings! prazn |

31 | What change can we expect? | 2 Cor 5:17 | prazn | 121965
John 6:44 "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day." Genuine salvation is not the result of human will power or intestinal fortitude or any other human effort (except the sincere confession and repentenance of our sins). It is the work of the Father (to draw) through His Son ("If I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me.") and the Holy Spirit (to convict of us our sinfulness). The Pharisees and Scribes were unable to believe that Jesus was their Messiah because they did not (and could not) recognize their need for salvation. They did not (and could not) believe that they were sinners because their hearts had been hardened. I believe that the change that takes place within the human soul, after confessing Jesus as Lord, differs for every individual. I've heard of people who received instantaneous transformations and deliverances immediately after confessing the Lord as Savior. Others, for whatever reason, take a little longer. However, they are no less "saved" than the folks who are seemingly changed over night. Consider, if you will, the healings that our Lord did among the people, when he walked the earth. Some were healed "immediately" (e.g., the woman with the issue of blood). Others experienced healing after the Lord took them through a "process" (e.g., the man born blind - John 9). The Bible says, in Romans 12:2 that we are transformed (i.e., minds renewed) as we feed upon the Word of God. But, evidence of that transformation is not always manifested by outward appearance ("...God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." 1 Samuel 16:7) The good news is that God is not on "our" time clock. Glory to God! He has promised in Philippians 1:6, that if He has begun a "good work" in us, He will be "faithful to complete it." God makes all things beautiful in His time! grace and peace! prazn |

32 | How to Grow spiritually | Acts 2:38 | prazn | 121964
We also grow spiritually by praying to the Lord for understanding as we read/study His word and in all of our relationships with fellow believers, as well as the unsaved. The Holy Spirit (the Spirit of Truth) leads us into ALL truth. It is the Holy Spirit that illuminates God's word for us and helps us to know the Lord better and to know who we are in Him. The Holy Spirit convicts of us sin; granting us the opportunity to confess that sin and to receive the Lord's forgiveness, cleansing and restoration. peace! prazn |

34 | Does God "cause" or "allow"? | Bible general Archive 2 | prazn | 121899
There is evidence throughout the Old Testament that God both causes and allows evil to befall His people (for purposes of correction). Numerous times throughout the Old Testament, the Lord sent struck down those who disobeyed His commandments. Examples: when the Israelites grumbled about their provisions, or married pagan wives; when the ark of the covenant was not carried back to Jerusalem according to the Lord's specific instructions for doing so; when King David took a census and the Lord gave the king a choice regarding the punishment that he would be given, etc. Whether the Lord "causes" or "allows" evil to befall His people the purpose is undoubtedly the same...and that is to bring His sons and daughters to maturation in Him: Heb 12:5 "MY SON, DO NOT REGARD LIGHTLY THE DISCIPLINE OF THE LORD, NOR FAINT WHEN YOU ARE REPROVED BY HIM; Heb 12:6 FOR THOSE WHOM THE LORD LOVES HE DISCIPLINES, AND HE SCOURGES EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVES." Heb 12:7 It is for discipline that you endure; God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? Heb 12:8 But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. Heb 12:9 Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them; shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits, and live? Heb 12:10 For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but He disciplines us for our good, so that we may share His holiness. Heb 12:11 All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness. With regard to your question about the angels. You undoubtedly know that Lucifer was an angel of the Lord who was kicked out of heaven along with his rebellious cohorts. I suppose that an argument could be made, based upon the enemy's exercise of his free will, that the Angels of God also have free will. Hope this answers your questions... peace! prazn |

35 | What does Sold out mean to each one? | Bible general Archive 2 | prazn | 121674
"Sold out" means that I have made a commitment to Jesus to follow Him in all His ways. It means picking up my cross and denying my "self" so that the life of Christ may be manifest in this mortal body. It means dying to my "flesh" (i.e., sin nature) by denying my self the things that the world, the "flesh" and the devil offer or entice me with. Do I still stumble, at times? Yes. But, I'm no less "sold out". It is God's grace that empowers me to do what I cannot do in my own strength and by an act of my own will. Rom 8:5 For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. Rom 8:6 For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, Rom 8:7 because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, Rom 8:8 and those who are in the flesh cannot please God. Rom 8:9 However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. Rom 8:10 If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness. Rom 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. Rom 8:12 So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh-- Rom 8:13 for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live. peace! prazn |

36 | Meekness synonymous with sacrifice? | Rom 12:1 | prazn | 108912
Hi Cheryl, During His life in the flesh, Jesus consistently professed and demonstrated His obedience to the will of God, the Father. He never sought to do His own will, but that of the One who sent Him. Jesus became obedient, even to the extreme of death on a cross. Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice. If we worship Jesus Christ, whom we profess as Lord and Savior, we will also want Him to rule and reign in our hearts and minds. When we are thus committed to Jesus' lordship over our lives we will no longer be content to be ruled by our own wants and desires, but by the will of God (as revealed in His word and through a growing relationship with Him). We accept whatever God so wills for us because we know that He loves us and that His plans are to prosper us and not to harm us. God bless you! prazn |

37 | Can christian people live righteous life | John 14:15 | prazn | 108907
No one can live a "righteous" (as you call it) life apart from the grace of God and belief in the Lord Jesus Christ (i.e., belief that Jesus died to save us from the wrath of God because we are sinful beings, by nature). "Righteousness" is the believers position, before God, in Christ; we are declared "righteous" by God because we have believed in His Son (the Lord Jesus Christ the righteous One): Rom 3:19-26 Now we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be closed and all the world may become accountable to God; because by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes the knowledge of sin. But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been manifested, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed; for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. Rom 4:2-8 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. For what does the Scripture say? "ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD, AND IT WAS CREDITED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS." Now to the one who works, his wage is not credited as a favor, but as what is due. But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness, just as David also speaks of the blessing on the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works: "BLESSED ARE THOSE WHOSE LAWLESS DEEDS HAVE BEEN FORGIVEN, AND WHOSE SINS HAVE BEEN COVERED. "BLESSED IS THE MAN WHOSE SIN THE LORD WILL NOT TAKE INTO ACCOUNT." We keep the Lord's commandments because He has written them in our hearts and the Holy Spirit convicts us of our sins, affording us the opportunity to confess and repent: Heb 8:10 "...I WILL PUT MY LAWS INTO THEIR MINDS, AND I WILL WRITE THEM ON THEIR HEARTS. AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE. John 16:8 "And He [the Holy Spirit], when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment;..." 1 John 1:8-10 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us. |

38 | salvation and sanctification | Eph 2:10 | prazn | 108843
Salvation occurs when we believe with our hearts, and confess with our mouths, that Jesus died to save us from our sins and was raised from the dead. The very moment that we confess our belief, that Jesus Christ is the only One who can save us from our sins, we are saved from the wrath of Almighty God and are made "right" (i.e., righteous) with Him. Sanctification is a process by which we are conformed, through the grace of God, into the image of our dear Savior. Through sanctification, sin loses its appeal to us and our desires transfer to those things that will draw us closer to our Savior. During sanctification, we find ourselves increasingly made able (by the power of God) to live a life of holiness before our God and before man. But, we must give up (i.e., mortify the deeds of the flesh) our sin nature so that the divine nature within us can be increasingly manifested for others to see. Putting off the "old man" (i.e., sin nature) is not always an easy thing to do; but, it is necessary so that the "new man" (i.e., the divine nature) may be revealed through us. Hope this helps!?! prazn |

39 | How do I know my purpose in life | Eph 2:10 | prazn | 108838
You can know your purpose in life by asking the One who created you. Have you received Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior? If you have, are you maintaining a close relationship with Him, through prayer, worship and Bible study? Yes, the Lord God of the heavens and earth created you for a specific purpose. Our primary purpose for living is to be reconciled to the Father through His Son (Jesus Christ). Then we must establish relationship with the Lord (i.e., get to know who He is), through prayer, worship and Bible study. The Lord has created specific "works" for each of us to do, which He reveals to each of us in His time. In short, if you want to know your purpose: (1) commit your life to the Lord Jesus Christ; (2) maintain a close relationship with Him; and (3) ask Him to reveal to you what "works" He created you for. God bless you! |

40 | Release and Faith Question | Rev 22:18 | prazn | 91526
Hi RadioMan, What follows are a few scriptures which, I believe, support the Word of Faith teachings. Perhaps they will give us all a little more to ponder: Mark 11:22-24 And Jesus *answered saying to them, "Have faith in God. "Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him. "Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you. Matt 17:15-20 "Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is a lunatic and is very ill; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. "I brought him to Your disciples, and they could not cure him." And Jesus answered and said, "You unbelieving and perverted generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring him here to Me." And Jesus rebuked him, and the demon came out of him, and the boy was cured at once. Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, "Why could we not drive it out?" And He *said to them, "Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you. John 15:7 "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you." Matt 8:13 And Jesus said to the centurion, "Go; it shall be done for you as you have believed." And the servant was healed that very moment. Matt 15:28 Then Jesus said to her, "O woman, your faith is great; it shall be done for you as you wish." And her daughter was healed at once. Matt 18:19 "Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. Blessings! prazn |
