42 | god hates sin but loves the person | Ps 5:5 | Val | 216746
Luke 6, God commands us to love our enemies and we will be rewarded, verse 35 Love Your Enemies 27 “But I say to you who listen: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. 29 If anyone hits you on the cheek, offer the other also. And if anyone takes away your coat, don’t hold back your shirt either. 30 Give to everyone who asks from you, and from one who takes away your things, don’t ask for them back. 31 Just as you want others to do for you, do the same for them. 32 If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. 33 If you do what is good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. 34 And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners to be repaid in full. 35 But love your enemies, do what is good, and lend, expecting nothing in return. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is gracious to the ungrateful and evil. 36 Be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful. |

43 | god hates sin but loves the person | Ps 5:5 | Val | 216745
Dear Love, Christ came to rescue the sinner and give him eternal life through the shed blood of Christ on the cross. He paid the sin debt for everyone and when one puts his faith and trust in Christ and his finished work on the cross he receives the gift of eternal life. We are told in the following passages that Christ died for us while we were yet sinners so yes he does love sinners of which we all are. To die without receiving this gift puts one in the position of not having the debt paid for so thus one dies in his sins and we are told the wages of sin is death. Christ loves us all and wants all to come to the saving knowledge of him. It is the goodness of God that brings us to repentance. Yes he loves the sinner which we all are. Here are some references. Do a word study on sinners, love, merciful, eternal life for further scriptures. Romans 5, How much does God love sinners? He loves them so much that he died for them, verse 6. All humans are sinners, verse 12. Christ paid the sin debt for everyone, verse 18, Through the grace of God through His Son Jesus Christ we have eternal life, verse 21 Faith Triumphs 1 Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace[1] with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Also through Him, we have obtained access by faith[2] into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also rejoice in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance, 4 endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope. 5 This hope does not disappoint, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Those Declared Righteous Are Reconciled 6 For while we were still helpless, at the appointed moment, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For rarely will someone die for a just person—though for a good person perhaps someone might even dare to die. 8 But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us! 9 Much more then, since we have now been declared righteous by His blood, we will be saved through Him from wrath. 10 For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, [then how]* much more, having been reconciled, will we be saved by His life! 11 And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. Death through Adam and Life through Christ 12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, in this way death spread to all men, because all sinned.[3] 13 In fact, sin was in the world before the law, but sin is not charged to one’s account when there is no law. 14 Nevertheless, death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who did not sin in the likeness of Adam’s transgression. He is a prototype of the Coming One. 15 But the gift is not like the trespass. For if by the one man’s trespass the many died, how much more have the grace of God and the gift overflowed to the many by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ. 16 And the gift is not like the one man’s sin, because from one sin came the judgment, resulting in condemnation, but from many trespasses came the gift, resulting in justification.[4] 17 Since by the one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive the overflow of grace and the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ. 18 So then, as through one trespass there is condemnation for everyone, so also through one righteous act there is life-giving justification[5] for everyone. 19 For just as through one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so also through the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous. 20 The law came along to multiply the trespass. But where sin multiplied, grace multiplied even more, 21 so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace will reign through righteousness, resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. |

There are a lot of churches who hold to the basic historical christian doctrines. Remember what christianity is about. It is all about Jesus. His death, burial and resurrection. Do you believe this? Who do you say that Jesus is?

Dear Rajeeb, The Lord's prayer is a good prayer to start with. Also bowing on one knee is a good position because it shows your reverence for the Lord. The answers will come to you by way of scripture. I always ask for a neon sign because I want to be sure of the answer. Ask for two confirmations and then continue asking along the way. Also wait for the Lord's timing. Sometimes it takes a while to receive an answer. Sometimes the answer is yes, sometimes no and sometimes wait. Also you can look at the prayers of the great saints of the bible and pray their prayers for yourself and others. Hope this helps. Sincerely, Val

50 | what does sons of God refer to. | Gen 6:2 | Val | 215333
Dear Shane, there are two views; one is that they were angels. The other view is that they were men. I tend to agree with the second view because when the Pharisees asked Jesus about heaven and a hypothetical question about a women who had several husbands whose wife she would be in heaven. He said there was no marriage in heaven as there was in earth and we would be like the angels. This verse is what is called a difficult verse and since there is no cross reference to explain it we just leave it at that. Some wise person once said of the bible; the plain things are the main things and the main things are the plain things. Sincerely, Val |

51 | speaking in tounges | 1 Cor 12:30 | Val | 215134
Dear WalkforChrist; Here is an explanation of salvation from a couple of websites with cross references. I would encourage you to read the cross references in the bible. Salvation is by Grace through faith alone. This is a description of salvation: When an unregenerate person exercises that faith in Christ which is illustrated and described as such in the New Testament, he/she passes immediately out of spiritual death into spiritual life, and from the old creation into the new; being justified from all things, accepted before the Father according as Christ His Son is accepted, loved as Christ is loved, having his/her place and portion as linked to Him and one with Him forever. Though the saved one may have occasion to grow in the realization of his/her blessings and to know a fuller measure of divine power through the yielding of his/her life more fully to God, he/she is, as soon as he/she is saved, in possession of every spiritual blessing and absolutely complete in Christ, and is therefore in no way required by God to seek a so-called “second blessing,” or a “second work of grace” (John 5:24; 17:23; Acts 13:39; Rom. 5:1; 1 Cor. 3:21–23; Eph. 1:3; Col. 2:10; 1 John 4:17; 5:11–12). – http://www.dts.edu/about/doctrinalstatement/ A. The salvation of man is wholly a work of God's free grace and is not the result, in whole or in part, of human works or goodness or of religious ceremony. Salvation is received only through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, as a man will repent and believe the gospel. God imputes His righteousness to those who put their faith in Christ alone for their salvation, and thereby justifies them in His sight (John 1:11, 12;14:6; Mark 1:15; Eph. 2:8, 9; Titus 3:5-7; Rom 3:20-28; 4:16-25; Gal. 2:16; 3:24). B. It is the privilege of all who are born again of the Spirit to be assured of their salvation from the very moment in which they trust Christ as their Savior. This assurance is not based upon any kind of human merit, but is produced by the witness of the Holy Spirit, who confirms in the believer the testimony of God in His written Word (John 1:11, 12; 3:14-18, 36; 14:16; 5:24; Rom 8:16-18; Titus 3:5-7; Heb. 13:5, 6; 1 John 5:11-13; Rev. 6:9-11). http://www.woodlandpark.org/about/beliefs.asp Sincerely, Val |

52 | Do the dead praise God? | Luke 16:23 | Val | 215096
Dear Humility, the reason death for a christian is called sleep is because eternity for them is not death. The unsaved however will experience two deaths. The death from this earth and the death to eternity. Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years. Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Sincerely, Val |

55 | No man can God and live. | Heb 1:3 | Val | 215088
Dear Humility, with a person like you mentioned, sometimes it is best just to state plainly the gospel which is the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. A person who does not have the spirit of God could not comprehend the bible because it is spirtually discerned. Only after an individual believes in the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord does he begin to understand the living word. You can always share the love of Christ with them and how your life has changed since following Him. I have always been taught to keep the focus on the cross and the love of God. Hope this helps, Sincerely, Val
56 | Banker are sinner or not | Deut 23:20 | Val | 214654
Notice in the next verse He says to charge interest to the foreigner. We must remember that Deuteronomy was written by Moses instructing him and the people of God, Israel, how to treat one another. They had just come out of Egypt and were going into the promised land. This law was for a specific nation at a particular time in history. In it we see the holiness of God and how he wants us to treat one another. To apply that to a modern situation I would personally consider the fair market value, what other banks are charging and through prayer and further study of God's word. You must be guided by the Holy Spirit within you as to what would be fair. A good rule of thumb is do unto others as you would have them do unto you. We live in a different time period under different government so we obey our government. Charging interest is a necessary component of business. Striking a balance I believe is key. You are in essence looking out for the good of both the customer and at the same time the business. Deut 23:20 "You may charge interest to a foreigner, but to your countrymen you shall not charge interest, so that the LORD your God may bless you in all that you undertake in the land which you are about to enter to possess. Hope this helps, Sincerely, Val

58 | Rahab righteous or not? | Josh 2:4 | Val | 214634
Dear Humility: Here are some facts about Rahab the harlot that I hope might help; One, Rahab trusted God Two, Rahab was a resident of Jericho Three, Rahab’s faith spared her and her family from death Four, Rahab did not perish with the disobedient Five, Rahab had faith in God and found approval by Him because of it Six, The two spies went to the house of a harlot in Jericho, Rahab Seven, In almost every passage about her she is referred to as Rahab the harlot, yet she was the great-great grandmother of King David and in the line of Christ. Eight, She had heard about the Lord and the great things He had done and realized Who He is – the God in heaven above and on earth beneath. Nine, She was justified by her works of faith; she hid the spies and asked to be spared when God gave them the victory over Jericho. Ten, Perhaps the reason she is called Rahab the harlot is to remind all who read about her that there is none so defiled that they cannot come to faith in the Lord. Eleven, The scripture does not condone her lying, ONLY the fact that she hid the spies. Twelve, She was a pagan living in a society that DID NOT have the laws of God. Thirteen, The people of Jericho still remember what they had heard about the Lord drying up the Red Sea when He led Israel out of Egypt forty years previous. Fourteen, they had also heard what Israel had done to the two Amorite kings on the other side of the Jordan, very recently at that point in time. Fifteen, Their hearts had melted, and no courage remained in any man because of Israel, actually because of the God of Israel; that was the report of the two spies when they returned to Joshua. Sixteen, Rahab had secured a pledge of safety for herself and her father’s household before the spies left her. Seventeen, Rahab told them what to do to return safely to the camp of Israel. Eighteen, Rahab tied the scarlet cord in the window of her house on the wall as soon as they left, even though she knew the defeat of Jericho would not be for at least 3 more days. Nineteen, Rahab knew that Jericho would fall to Israel, and she did not perish with the disobedient. Twenty, Rahab knew of the Lord because she heard about what He had done. Sincerely, Val |

59 | Why was being born a Jew so important? | Bible general Archive 4 | Val | 214383
Dear Humility, this question reminds me of why it is important to read the whole counsel of scriputure. In Genesis you will find the redemption plan of God. Be sure and mark all the references to Abraham, who he was, where he was and what was promised him. As you read through the entire counsel of God you will see this redemption plan unfold. If you desire their is a precept upon precept bible study called Covenant which may be purchased at Precept.org. This study pulls the whole scripture together. Sincerely, Val
60 | can Satan plant thoughts into our minds? | 1 Pet 5:8 | Val | 214325
Yes. The word heart and mind can be used interchangeably in this verse. In Acts 5:3 we are told that Satan filled Ananias mind to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back some of the price of the land. We do not know how these thoughts, we could also call them suggestions, get from Satan into our minds but we know that they do. This is why Paul states in 2 Corinthians 10:5 to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. Evil thoughts can also come from our own fleshly desires. Sincerely, Val |
