141 | Homosexuality and Christianity? | Leviticus | Pastor Glenn | 66566
Defender, You said, “Why are homosexuals nt accepted - is it true that their sexuality is a result of their genes? Does God accept homosexuals? Can homosexuals be Christians? Answer: Because of Leviticus 18:22 chritains beleive that this small statement, is more truer than genetics and science, they beleive homosexuality is a choice that can be changed! But if god created us in his image, he created us the way we are, and god love all of his creations! “ The bottom line for “heterosexuals” (let alone homosexuals) is that all sex acts is a choice. God did not create us in our present state. Our present state is with a “sin nature” that is the result of the “fall” of mankind. Sin nature gave us a selfish, lustful, and rebellious attitude to the things of God. Defender, the real question is whether we want to shed our sin nature by being “born again”. (Read John chapters 3 and 4) You said, “There have been 27'000 editions of the bible as far as i know, and in my beleive, each edition may have been altered to say what was the current moralistic view of the people, also there are a lot of words in the hebrew and greek that can not be fully translated into todays english! “ “The bible has many contradictions, so it would be worth while researching the bible, the torah and make up your own mind, then that is your beleive and yes you can call yourself christian and be homosexual if thats what you beleive in! I myself do beleive homosexuality is ok, mainly for the scientific prove that keeps unfolding, and for the fact that god created us in his image! “ If you do not believe the bible is accurate enough, then studying it is useless for you. But, I tell you that it is extremely accurate! Now the deeper question is whether we want to be saved from our sins and be changed by God from the inside out. He did it for me and He will do it for you if you invite Him to! Pastor Glenn |

142 | compasionate God versus vengeful God | Lev 18:25 | Pastor Glenn | 140060
Hello Lorraine, Welcome to the forum. To the question of "why did God kill or order to be killed so many people...", I would point out that God has not changed. He was then, and still is, the God of Justice. Job 4:8 Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same. Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people. Maybe it would be Good for your son to study the following scriptures in context in his bible. God is very even handed with all people. Leviticus 18:25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants. Leviticus 18:28 That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you. Leviticus 20:22 Ye shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: that the land, whither I bring you to dwell therein, spue you not out. Deu 8:19 And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish. Deu 8:20 As the nations which the LORD destroyeth before your face, so shall ye perish; because ye would not be obedient unto the voice of the LORD your God. Eze 33:11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel? Eze 33:12 Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth. Eze 33:13 When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it. Eze 33:14 Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right; Eze 33:15 If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die. Eze 33:16 None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live. Eze 33:17 Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal. Eze 33:18 When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby. Eze 33:19 But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby. Eze 33:20 Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways. Now, as to the question of those that died before Christ, Abraham is one who died before Christ, of course he has salvation. The greatness of God's plan of salvation through Jesus Christ is that it covered all people of all time: Gal 3:8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. Gal 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. Also see Hebrew chapter 11. Hope this helps, Pastor Glenn |

143 | old testament salvation | Lev 18:25 | Pastor Glenn | 140124
Hello Angel, You asked: "... now, do you think that Adam and Eve were cognizant of God's Design (Genesis 3:15); do you think that they clearly understood that thousands of years later there would be a Messiah, who would die for their sins and that they would be granted Life if they but Believed?" Well it is clear that someone taught Cain and Abel the need to offer sacrifices. Also, by faith Abel offered a more excellent sacrifice than did Cain. How did Abel know to offer a more excellent sacrifice? The answer is by believing God's Word and acting on the Word in faith. Remember how God personally counseled with Cain before he killed Abel, but instead of acting on God's Word, he murdered his brother. No faith in the Word. I checked the lifetimes. Adam lived until Enoch was 308. I wanted to point out that Noah lived until Abraham was 60 and Shem (Abraham's ancestor) outlived Abraham to see Jacob's 50th birthday (I think I added right). The point is that living witnesses were always present to present "living epistles". You quoted this verse: Joh 8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. Joh 8:57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? I feel that Christ's point was not so much as to whether Abraham had seen a pre-incarnate Christ. I feel that the point was that Abraham looked forward to his Redeemer coming into the word as the Seed of a woman and as the Seed that would bless the whole world (Gal 3:8,16). I feel this way after reading verses like this: Heb 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. You asked: "Does the Old Testament speak of God's prophets being sent to the pagans?" Yes, Jonah for one. God has always told man more than enough to be saved. When we respond to His enlightenment, He gives us even more light. That God was going to provide a Redeemer has always been told. That His righteousness becomes ours has aways been told. That faith in the Word is required for salvation has always been told. The Tree of Life was a "Type" of Christ. Noah's Ark clearly represented a "Type" of Christ as the "Way" of salvation. Here are a bunch of scriptures that I thought would be good to be aware of: Luk 4:25 But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land; Luk 4:26 But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow. Luk 4:27 And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian. Habakkuk 2:4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith. Romans 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. Galatians 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. Hebrews 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. Pastor Glenn |

144 | salvation for demons? | Lev 18:25 | Pastor Glenn | 140565
Hello Angel, "Peter, in 1 Peter 3:18-20, 4:6, is speaking on the fulfillment of Jesus' Salvation offered to all the creatures of God; these spirits are those who died not truly cognizant of God's Promise (Salvation in Christ Jesus)." Are you saying that Jesus offered salvation to the demons, as well as, to men? "...Jesus' Salvation offered to all the creatures of God..." Your brother in Christ, Pastor Glenn |

145 | salvation for demons? | Lev 18:25 | Pastor Glenn | 140604
Hello Angel, "... since they would not repent and obey, there is no Salvation for them!" Also, Jesus died as a man, as He paid the penalty of the death centance. We humans have the "advantage" of being able to shed our flesh and blood: 1 Corinthians 15 50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed-- 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory."[g] 55 "O Death, where is your sting?[h] O Hades, where is your victory?"[i] The angels are already immortal. They cannot be "born again" of the Spirit like we can. Remember that Jesus had to become completely human before dying for us: Heb 10 5 Therefore, when He came into the world, He said: "Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, But a body You have prepared for Me. The angels cannot have their sins taken away from their spiritual bodies. They have nothing to shed. Their corruption is in their spiritual bodies. They cannot shed there corrupt nature. They cannot change back holy. How could the debt of death be paid by a "physical" death of Christ? Any comments? Pastor Glenn |

146 | God's Wrath, Why God approaved of death | Lev 18:25 | Pastor Glenn | 145756
Hello Peter, Welcome to the forum. To the question of "the story of blood religion, narrowly tribal, telling of a God of Wrath who approves the destruction of all outside groups....", I would point out that God has not changed. He was then, and still is, the God of Justice. By "outside groups", I suppose that you mean non-Jews. Outside groups of the bible are those that are "outside of faith". God is not a racist God. Job 4:8 Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same. Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people. 147 | Heart and mind | Deut 6:5 | Pastor Glenn | 65166
eagle11, Here are my personal definitions: Heart, Ones Deepest emotions and desires that connects us with our surroundings, as well as, to others. Our heart determines how much we respond emotionally to what is happening around us. Mind, Ones process of setting Priories for decision making. Therefore, I would say that the heart affects the mind and vice versa. There needs to be the right amont of feedback between heart and mind for each and everything in our lives. Mankind is extremely complex. Maybe this is all controlled by our soul since the soul is separate from the heart and mind? Or maybe this question is too deep for me? Luke 10:27 So he answered and said, ""You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,'[10:27 Deuteronomy 6:5] and "your neighbor as yourself."'[ Leviticus 19:18] Pastor Glenn |

148 | Who are "the other Gods"? | Deut 11:1 | Pastor Glenn | 74910
Frank, The "other gods" are idols and/or demons. Exodus 20:3 "You shall have no other gods before Me. Notice that the true God is not giving credence to those other gods. He warns His people not to decieve themselves into thinking that there are "other gods" responsible for blessing them: Deuteronomy 11 13"And it shall be that if you earnestly obey My commandments which I command you today, to love the LORD your God and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul, 14then I[2] will give you the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil. 15And I will send grass in your fields for your livestock, that you may eat and be filled.' 16Take heed to yourselves, lest your heart be deceived, and you turn aside and serve other gods and worship them, 17lest the LORD's anger be aroused against you, and He shut up the heavens so that there be no rain, and the land yield no produce, and you perish quickly from the good land which the LORD is giving you. Often even now we as Christians are in danger of attributing our blessings to our jobs, our education, or our ingenuity. We sometimes lean towards worship of our possessions instead of the one true God. God is well aware of how we tend to decieve ourselves: Isaiah 44:9 Those who make an image, all of them are useless, And their precious things shall not profit; They are their own witnesses; They neither see nor know, that they may be ashamed. Revelation 9:20 But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk. There is only one true and living God. Pastor Glenn |

149 | How did Jael know to kill him? | Judg 4:21 | Pastor Glenn | 140857
Hello Wonderfully Made (wondrfleemade), God's prophecy from Deborah was that he will be killed by a woman. God's word is sure. First of all, the question is how did she know to flag him down: Judg 4:18 Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said to him, "Turn aside, my master, turn aside to me! Do not be afraid." And he turned aside to her into the tent, and she covered him with a rug. |
||||||
150 | Did she know him? | Judg 4:21 | Pastor Glenn | 140862
I do not see where she knew him personally. Maybe she was just prejudiced due to: Judges 4 2 and Jehovah selleth them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, who hath reigned in Hazor, and the head of his host [is] Sisera, and he is dwelling in Harosheth of the Goyim; 3 and the sons of Israel cry unto Jehovah, for he hath nine hundred chariots of iron, and he hath oppressed the sons of Israel mightily twenty years. 11 And Heber the Kenite hath been separated from the Kenite, from the sons of Hobab father-in-law of Moses, and he stretcheth out his tent unto the oak in Zaanaim, which [is] by Kedesh. So it would appear that she considered her family to be aligned with Israel. |

151 | Where are Ephraim and Dan in Rev 7 | Judg 18:30 | Pastor Glenn | 80240
Asis, This is an excellent question. I had noticed this in the past and noticed that commentaries do not say much about why Mannaseh is in place of Dan. I wonder if Dan ever repented as a tribe of their idolatry: Judges 18:30 Then the children of Dan set up for themselves the carved image; and Jonathan the son of Gershom, the son of Manasseh,[18:30 Septuagint and Vulgate read [Moses.] ] and his sons were priests to the tribe of Dan until the day of the captivity of the land. I also notice that "half the tribe of Manasseh" seems to gain increasing prominance in the scriptures: Judges 22 30Now when Phinehas the priest and the rulers of the congregation, the heads of the divisions[3] of Israel who were with him, heard the words that the children of Reuben, the children of Gad, and the children of Manasseh spoke, it pleased them. 31Then Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest said to the children of Reuben, the children of Gad, and the children of Manasseh, "This day we perceive that the LORD is among us, because you have not committed this treachery against the LORD. Now you have delivered the children of Israel out of the hand of the LORD." I wonder also if there are Hebrew Christians on this forum that may have better insight concerning the tribe of Dan. Their parents were previously baren: Genesis 17:17 Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said in his heart, "Shall a child be born to a man who is one hundred years old? And shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?" 18And Abraham said to God, "Oh, that Ishmael might live before You!" 19Then God said: "No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him. |

Searcher, Wow, youare right. That is so thorough. You are a treasure to this forum because you treasure the word of God. Acts 17:11 These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so. 155 | Agnostic? Indifferent? Undecided? Hesita | 1 Kin 18:21 | Pastor Glenn | 142467
1 Kings 18:21 Elijah came near to all the people and said, "How long will you hesitate between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him." But the people did not answer him a word. Agnostic? Indifferent? Undecided? Hesitant? Adam and Eve were made with free will. If Satan had not tempted Eve, would they have remained in the garden forever? Why did God allow Satan into the garden? Why did He put the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil into the garden? Should God let us remain indifferent towards Him? Any Comments? Pastor Glenn |

159 | Is there danger of guessing what He did? | Job | Pastor Glenn | 141794
Hello Searcher, “Should we guess what God impressed on the heart of men before the Law given by God that is not recorded in the Bible?” Luk 10:27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. Luk 10:28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. I think that we already know enough facts so that we do not need to guess. 1. Salvation was always the same way for all men, for all time: By the blood of the Lamb. Gen 3:21 Also for Adam and his wife the LORD God made tunics of skin, and clothed them. (Implies some animal died here.) 2. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin: Hebrews 9:22 And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission. 3. All of the Law and the Prophets hang on these two Old Testament commands: Deuteronomy 6:5, Leviticus 19:18 (Wouldn’t God have to reveil these to all men of all time for salvation?) 4. Jesus expected any teacher of Israel (Old Testament) to already know that they must be born again: John 3:10 5. Job knew of his Redeemer: Job 19:25 For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth; There is probably much more as we ponder the scriptures, Your brother in Christ, Pastor Glenn |
