581 | Can these Ten Kings be "Al-Qaeda"? | Rev 17:16 | Pastor Glenn | 59486
Can the "Al-Qaeda" be the Ten Kings? Who else do we know today that makes war with the Lamb(Christians and Israel), while also hating the prostitute(those that are very rich, proud, and selfish)?
582 | Isn't every word of God vital to us? | Rev 17:16 | Pastor Glenn | 59536
Debbie, You said "Speculation will do nothing for the Kingdom - action w/prayer will! " Should we then ignore all other prophecies except for the promise of Jesus' return? Jesus said: Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Isn't every word of God vital to our lives? Deuteronomy 8:3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live. Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Was it "speculation" that allowed the wise men to recognize Jesus' star at His birth? Or was it a deep analysis of every word of the Hebrew scriptures(the Old Testament). |

583 | Danger in "revelation theory" only. | Rev 17:16 | Pastor Glenn | 59580
Debbie, I think you are right about the dangers of having "revelation theory" as the only interest in our Christian study. I also agree that God does not want us to live in fear of the antichrist. However, we do need a healthy fear of the warnings of God as Noah had: Hebrews 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. As for Al-Qaeda, maybe they are not the ten kings, but there is indication that they may represent a part of the beast himself, while those that provide funding are "as kings" for one hour with the beast(Rev 17:12). 17:13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength(money?) unto the beast. It is important to identify all personallities here: the Ten kings, The Harlot, and the beast. While they are all enemies of the Lamb, the Ten Kings are also enemies of the Harlot that rides the beast. Bless you- Pastor Glenn |

584 | Does this mean that it is wrong to ask? | Rev 17:16 | Pastor Glenn | 59748
Brother John, You said:"Speculation in itself is can be a dangerous exercise. It can lead to the sinful practice of reading the scripture in the "light" of man's wisdom." Does this mean that it is wrong to ask the question as to whether Al-Qaeda or others that hate the Lamb (Christianity and Israel) and the Harlot that rides the beast could be part of Rev 17? It is true that God has not revealed everything we would like to know: Revelation 10:4 And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not. 1Corinthians 13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. However, we already know that the spirit of antichrist is with everyone that denies that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh: 1John 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 2John 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. If there is something wrong with comparing todays events to Revelation scripture then why were these prophesies written? Some things were sealed and not written while others were written. Why? "...spin it however they want." Huh? Who really was it that held the Christian Missionaries hostage in Afganistan last year? And who really destroyed the twin towers in New York? Or did these things really happen? Pastor Glenn |

585 | Does this mean that it is wrong to ask? | Rev 17:16 | Pastor Glenn | 59796
John and Makarios, You ask:"How would it profit the furtherence of the Kingdom of God? " The real question is how would it profit the furtherence of the kindom of God by using personal attacks, intimidation, and control the way John did to EdB? The rules of this forum: "...For the teacher and scholar, it's an opportunity to freely share your knowledge. The StudyBibleForum.com is built from the "Bible" up. Very well said EdB, I understand the concern of many Christians that dogmatic speculations can be bad for the spread of the Gospel. But it is also bad to ignore prophecy for fear of being wrong. We may be wrong about how we match up current events to scripture. But the scriptures are never wrong. Everything that was written will happen, no matter how often we interpret things wrong. You mention a number of very interesting observations of your own. Scripture indicates that a world wide monetary system and a world wide government will be ready for the Antichrist to assume command in the end. But Christ will take it all back! Praise God. Dan 2:44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. God Bless, Pastor Glenn |

2 Tim 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; Apparently this scripture is wrong. It should say "...all scripture 'except prophecy' is profitable for teaching..." Maybe this is bad advice too: Acts 5:38 "So in the present case, I say to you, stay away from these men and let them alone, for if this plan or action is of men, it will be overthrown; Acts 5:39 but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them; or else you may even be found fighting against God." Hank, Why was prophecy written? I understand the concern of many Christians that dogmatic speculations can be bad for the spread of the Gospel. But it is also bad to ignore prophecy for fear of being wrong. We may be wrong about how we match up current events to scripture. But the scriptures are never wrong. Everything that was written will happen. You seem to be saying "dogmatic or not just stay away from prophecy". 2 Tim 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; Apparently this scripture is wrong. Very well said Debbie, However, about Hitler; Hitler and everyone like him in history matches up well to the following scripture (the dragon): Rev 12:17 So the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to make war with the rest of her children, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus. 591 | "beheading" in modern times? | Rev 20:4 | Pastor Glenn | 124766
"...And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God..." Rev 20:4 Just when I was beginning to think that "beheading" was over with in modern times, terrorists begin it again. In general, persecution is not so bad yet in the United States. But times are changing. Any comments? Pastor Glenn |

Justme, I now pray for your healing as in James 5: 13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. 17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit. I cannot lay hands while praying, but I trust many others on this forum will also pray for you tonight that God will bring healing tonight. May God bless you richly, Pastor Glenn |

Hank, I also like Jesus' words in Mat 24 as He said "...See that you are not troubled...": 6And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. He then tells us more: 7For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences,[2] and earthquakes in various places. 8All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9"Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake. 10And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. I think that emphasis needs to go on verse 13: 13But he who endures to the end shall be saved. As a nation, I think we really need to repent beginning in our churches where adultery is tolerated, homosexuallity is accepted, and devorce is rampant, to name a few. Pastor Glenn |

595 | heaven on earth | Rev 21:3 | Pastor Glenn | 141988
Rev 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. Rev 21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. Rev 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. |

596 | Release and Faith Question | Rev 22:18 | Pastor Glenn | 91364
Radioman, The article fails to deal with the key verse, Heb 11:3. It claims that: "'Copeland derives his definition of faith from Hebrews 11:1: "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (KJV). ..." "God did frame the worlds and all things by faith and His Word. Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. " This teaching comes mostly by a misunderstanding of this verse. "Through faith 'we' understand...". By our faith we understand, rather than, "by God's faith He framed the worlds". Pastor Glenn |

"Whether such Scripture twisting is done deliberately or in ignorance, it is still Scripture twisting." I respectfully disagree. I see "Twisting" as a purposeful act. I must admit that I was also confused about this verse until I prayed about it after reading posts from both yourself and Graceful. May God help us all to better understand His word, as well as, each other's point of view. Remember that demonstrated love is all about doing unto others as we would have them do unto us. So, it helps to try to understand why a person believes the way they do. I want others to really see why I believe what I believe, then they can better correct me at the heart of the matter.
