Subject: Does this mean that it is wrong to ask? |
Bible Note: Hank, Why was prophecy written? I understand the concern of many Christians that dogmatic speculations can be bad for the spread of the Gospel. But it is also bad to ignore prophecy for fear of being wrong. We may be wrong about how we match up current events to scripture. But the scriptures are never wrong. Everything that was written will happen. You seem to be saying "dogmatic or not just stay away from prophecy". 2 Tim 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; Apparently this scripture is wrong. It should say "...all scripture 'except prophecy' is profitable for teaching..." Maybe this is bad advice too: Acts 5:38 "So in the present case, I say to you, stay away from these men and let them alone, for if this plan or action is of men, it will be overthrown; Acts 5:39 but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them; or else you may even be found fighting against God."
