141 | God Is At Work | 1 Cor 12:6 | Searcher56 | 219324
God's day to you, teacher@earthsalvation.com I see the Trinity in these three verses ... 4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. Diairesis is the word for diversities (or divisions), which is good unlike words translated divisions in this book ... schisma (1Co 1:10, 11:18, 12:25) dichostasia (1Co 3:3). Searcher |

142 | God does not want us "unaware." | 1 Cor 12:1 | Searcher56 | 219262
God's day to you, teacher@earthsalvation.com, and welcome to the SBF, I am so thankful it is not I who chooses or even asks ... "But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just AS He WILLS" (1 Cor 12:11) ... then in verse 18 "But now God has placed the members, each one of them, in the body, just AS HE DESIRED" ... yes I can desire the greater gifts (vs 31). Is that the order of the list in verse 28, or love is the next chapter? Searcher |

God's day to you, carolisblessed. Yes - Thank you for correcting me. Extrabilical information, I heard more than once. The cheapest meat was at the temple. Go in the door - turn one way to wroship the idols ... the other way to by the meat. One watching a brother going in may not know which way you went. Searcher |

YenIsaRap. Let me change to executing. The soldiers were killing/executing someone they were told to. They made no judgments ... that wasn't their place. The same is true for those who execute today. They are doing their job. As you know there were capital crimes in the OT. S

147 | universalism? | Luke 23:34 | Searcher56 | 218978
God's day to you, Yen, I believe the two they's in this verse are connected. The Roman soldiers did not know they were killing the Son of God. To them they were killing a criminal against Rome. Question. If you as a Roman soldier were a follower of Christ and was a the cross and your job was to nail Him to the cross ... would you do so? I think while you may even protest to your Lord, He would tell you ... "You must, else you will remain dead in your sins. Moreover, I am freely giving up My life, a sacrifice for your sins and those that believe." Searcher PS In verse 33, the only other possible "they" He could have been talking about were the two criminals. I think they knew what they did. |

148 | Free Will | Gen 1:1 | Searcher56 | 218874
Scripture ... Philemon 1:14 "but without your consent I did not want to do anything, so that your goodness would not be, in effect, by compulsion but of your own free will" ... The word used for free will is hekousion (Strong's 1595) meaning voluntary. It is the neuter of a derivative from of hekon (Strong's 1635). One definition is unforced. It is used twice (Rom 8:20, 1Co 9:17). In Hebrew it is bechirah chofshit. The issue of free will has benn debated a long time, and many times at the SBF. Read what has been posted on this subject and please don't continue the discussion, even if it just with angels, unless it is by email. Searcher |

God's day to you, Yen, 1 Did God honor the sacrifices made by the Jewish people, (for the forgiveness of sin) until the destruction of the Temple? Yes - God gave the command to sacrifice (Lev 1:1-6:7, 23:13,37). There are exceptions to the yes (Isa 29:13, Mar 7:6-7). I don't read anywhere to stop sacrificing. Searcher |

Yen, 2 Will God again honor the sacrifices of the Jewish people, (for the forgiveness of sin) when they are reinstated, after the rebuilding of the Temple? Yes, read millennium sacrifices in Ezekiel 40:38-39, 45:13-17 ... chapters 40-46 is about the new temple and "worship". S |

154 | no more animal sacrifice | Heb 8:13 | Searcher56 | 218705
God's day to you, Yen, Did God accept the sacrifices after His death until the final destruction of the Temple? I think about Hebrews 7:27 (I noticed Tim's post after I wrote), as well as what is missing in the other NT books. What is missing is the fact no more sacrifices. Then we read millennium sacrifices in Ezekiel 40:38-39, 45:13-17. So does the Bible say to stop the old system? Searcher |

156 | The Bible is a mirror! | Rom 3:23 | Searcher56 | 218669
James 1:23-25 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror; for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was. But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does. God's day to you, humility, On one hand the Bible is a mirror ... but we are also a mirror. Do we reflect what the Bible says, when people see us? Searcher |

God's day to you, Makarios, I know you are quoting a source, but when we do we need to be ready to support it. I will point out why I differ with your source. Was Scripture provided? How are the following "God's grace or His gift to man" "There were 5 stones that David picked up to kill Goliath. God gave him the victory." ... but wasn't ONE stone that killed him? I believe it was David's faith (1Sa 17:45, Psa 9:10) "There were five loaves and fishes in which God gave to feed the multitude." ... It wasn't just the five loaves, but two fish, too (Luk 9:17). Then in Matthew 15:34, we read 7 loaves and a few fish in another feeding. Is this God's grace or His gift to man? "In the tabernacle, there were five curtains, bars, and pillars." ... There were 10 curtains (Exo 26:1 (5 and 5) vs 3), as well as 11 (6 and 5) (vs 7-9). I also see 50, so 5 isn't the only number for the tabernacle. There were also 4 pillars (Exo 36:32). The numbers for the objects is wrong. How is this either God's grace or His gift to man? "If Israel would have obeyed God, five of them would chase a thousand." ... Leviticus 26:8 also says 100 would chase 10,000. I like 1 chase 1000 and 2 chase 10,000 (Deu 32:30) better. S |

God's day to you, ello, and welcome to the SBF, Where does the Bible say the SACRIFICE had to be a blood sacrifice? The Bible says "offering" (Gen 4:4-5) ... there were grain and other offerings (Lev 23:37). Stay and provide your insights, so that all are challenged ... even ask questions. Searcher |
