Hello again NEW Creature,It seems you are frustrated about what you feel church should or should not be doing and then you seem to judge the format in which each congration is trying to follow. All of your judging is only keeping you occupied on matters thats really not that important to God. All he wants you to do is LOVE one another. It says judge not or you to will be judged by GOD ALmighty. No man has this right to put down another for his beliefs.Colossians 2:16. Human nature is simple when theres a disagreement we tend to close up, nothing can get in, nothing can get out. So I say this to you be opened to the word of GOD, develope your own personel relationship with him and then you wont be disappointed when man lets you down or lead you down the wrong path. Remember focus on him rather than the type of church service. Please except what Iam saying as a love jesture and not an attack on your thoughts. It is evident that the real message has not been taught to a lot of us. But all we can do is continue to strive toward the mark. Peace-out D BLESSER

D Blesser: Your words from Post 110003: "All He (God) wants you to do is love one another...No man has the right to put down another for his beliefs." .... Baloney! Pure poppycock! The greatest commandment is not to love one another. It is to "love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind." [Matthew 22:37] And Jesus said, "If you love me, you will keep my commandments." [John 14:15]. .... Which brings us to your second statement, i.e., that "no man has the right to put down another for his beliefs." Oh yes he does! Not only does the Christian have the right but he has the duty to put down (reprove) others for their unbiblical beliefs. Listen to what Paul said to Timothy: "I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, .... Preach the word: be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction, for the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine..." [see 2 Timothy 4:1-4]. When it is thought and being taught that false teaching in a church should be condoned and that fellow Christians should not reprove and condemn it in no uncertain terms, the time when men will not endure sound doctrine has surely come for that church. --Hank

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another, as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if you have love one to another.John 13:34-35. Owe no man anything, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. For this, thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely,Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.Romans 13:8-10 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holiday, or the new moon, or of the sabbath days:Colossians 2:16 . And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnel, even as unto babes in christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are you able. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnel, and walk as men? 1Corinthians 3:1-3

D Blesser Since we are tip toeing down the path of the love generation, maybe we should take a few bars of John Lennon's song 'imagine' and just imagine there is no heaven or hell. Therefore no judgement therefore no problem. As I hope you well know this is nonsense. Of course all forms of media can be used to bring the message, even a circus, but it must focus the listeners eyes, ears heart and spirit on God and His Son Jesus and if it doesn’t then it nothing more than entertainment. This is what is happening is most cases, the media is only satisfying the perceived needs of the audience. The songs are songs of encouragement based not on hope in Christ Jesus but on the 'ability' of the listener. It is drama that brings conviction not from a change of heart but of a 'emotional reaction' of the senses. It a video that brings a resolve to change because of a 'desire' to make this a better world and not true repentance because the viewer has sense of his sin. Excellent singing, talented acting, infinite budget for technology will not bring people to Jesus, they come only by the Holy Spirit after hearing the Gospel. The problem is not the media, I have no problem if someone can use media and bring people to Jesus. However what is occurring is they are using the media to entertain and delight the senses of the audience in an effort to keep the people, the gospel message is lost. EdB |
