Hello again NEW Creature,It seems you are frustrated about what you feel church should or should not be doing and then you seem to judge the format in which each congration is trying to follow. All of your judging is only keeping you occupied on matters thats really not that important to God. All he wants you to do is LOVE one another. It says judge not or you to will be judged by GOD ALmighty. No man has this right to put down another for his beliefs.Colossians 2:16. Human nature is simple when theres a disagreement we tend to close up, nothing can get in, nothing can get out. So I say this to you be opened to the word of GOD, develope your own personel relationship with him and then you wont be disappointed when man lets you down or lead you down the wrong path. Remember focus on him rather than the type of church service. Please except what Iam saying as a love jesture and not an attack on your thoughts. It is evident that the real message has not been taught to a lot of us. But all we can do is continue to strive toward the mark. Peace-out D BLESSER

DBlessor Let me take the time to remind you that the opinions I previously posted which you object to, come from well respected men of God, who over the years saw the sliding backwards of the church further into worldliness. These respected Christian men I quoted, know the word of God. So when I post their comments on what they saw happening to the church, and what is happening in the church, they were not by any strech of the imagination, angry at the church, and neither am I. These faithful men of God wrote down warnings for all of us, so they we might recognize where we were as a church body in the past, and how far we have strayed from where we once were. The church is becomming more and more like the world. Even Paul warned us in Acts when he said to the elders of Ephesus: Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. Acts 20:29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Acts 20:30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. Acts 20:31 Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears. So if you disagree with what I have posted you are not mainly disagreeing with me, but more importantly with men of God who ministered and labored night and day in the word of God. Men like A. W. Tozer, and Pastor Jim Cymbala of the brooklyn Tabernacle Church, and others. These are the names of a few of the men from whom the quotes came that I posted in my 2 replys. I respect their insights and you should as well. Spoken in love in Christ Jesus name New Creature |

The quotes that were posted does not mean that what they were saying is Gods word its only their opinion and not his. Because he is a kind, merciful God and he would not bash the music in the church, gospal plays, worship centers, or any form of praise and worship. As long as you are praising him. It says sing praises unto his name, When the rapture comes the Angle Gabrial will sound his horn(an Instrument). So you can tell me that theres no place for music in the church and I do respect someones insight but thats all it is ,their insight. We are not governed by mans thoughts but by GODS word and his words only. Once you develope a one on one relationship with him he will show you answers to your concerns. Everyone know of him but everyone dont know him.

D Blesser You said "As long as you are praising him." (Him being God added for clarification) Now we are at the crux of this discussion. If God is being worshipped your right, however what Hank, New Creature and myself are contending is that the worship of God isn’t the primary focus. What we are saying has become the primary focus is pleasing the audience. Therefore the songs aren’t worship songs exalting God but are songs that are really exalting and praising the people singing them. Listen to the words that are being sung. In many many cases the song is all about the people singing them rather than God. Drama isn’t being used to reveal peoples sin, showing them their need for salvation and Jesus as the only way to that salvation. In most of the drama the audiences sense are be titillated in a effort to evoke an emotional reaction from them. In other words they are not being brought to a place of conviction of their sin by the Holy Spirit but rather had their emotions manipulated to evoke a sense of sorrow, lost, regret, horror and even anger. The visual effects are not being used to capture their vision to be then focused on Christ but rather the effects are being used to stipulate and excite the senses, in an effort to build a desire for more. If God is being properly worshipped I don’t think God cares how it is done. He said if we won’t worship Him the rocks would. However we can not assume just because it is done in church, that is proper worship of God. In many cases today it is anything but the worship of God. EdB |

Amen EdB - when the "worship team" or the choir finishes singing what it the response? Usually it is applause. I think I've expressed myself on this point before but . . . I understand that there are those who are genuinely moved to clap in praise FOR God, but mostly, it seems to be offered in appreciation for the efforts of the singers. Why don't we break out into wild applause when the repentant one walks the aisle? Just wondering. mommapbs |

There is a point at which we do this in our church, besides after a moving song, and that's when someone follows the Lord in baptism. I don't know about the rest of our congregation but it brings tears to my eyes and I always thank the Lord.

Greetings CDBJ - Yes, I can relate to that too. I'd not want to convey that I'm part of the "frozen chosen"! There are indeed times that I am so overcome that I can't even utter a note but magnify the Lord in my heart. And at times, I find myself just "going with the flow," - which causes me angst. I guess I long for the Day when we will all be prostrate at His feet! Holiness demands a response, and God will have it HIS WAY. What I see is man's attempt to worship God as we "see Him," which may or may not be as He IS! All too often, there is a familiarity present that diminishes MY ability to see the Lord as "high and lifted up." (I guess it must be a personal problem that I will have to let the Lord work out for me!) Blessings, mommapbs |

Often when we sing, in church, I get choked up praising the Lord because God’s grace blows my mind, that He has chosen someone like me, to reveal the truth about His Son too. I tell my wife that I think when I sing that it must make my nose run; you know the resonance and all? I always manage to pull my handkerchief out some time during the song service. You know, guys don’t get emotional like the ladies do, oops! Praise the Lord, CDBJ |
