Hello angel3, I have read both of Rick Warren's Purpose Driven books and have a mixed reaction. There are things mentioned that are quite good, yet others are unsound or unbiblical. Discernment is required for these. Steve |

First of all sorry to chime in at the wrong place in regards to your question. I new here. Here's the way the Bible talks about purpose compared to will. The Lords purpose and his will, is what we will find all the way throughout the bible. I have not read the book you are talking about, but I know what I read. Look at prophecy, look at will, look at tribulation. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. This being his will gives purpose for the death burial and resurection, to make it easier for both Jew and Gentile to be saved. Look at the story of Lot and Babylon. He would have spared the whole city if there was one person that believed in him? purpose, will, I think you can come to a conclusion from here. hopes this encourages you on your search to set your heart at ease on this issue. |
