CDBJ; My reply is a personal testimony concerning the following comment of yours; "It’s not the job of the pastor to reach the lost, it the job of the saints." While in church yesterday, the message we received in the service, was given by a missionary from Gabon, Africa. She emphazied the important fact which you mention here, that it is not just the Pastor's job to do the evangelizing, the missionary, said it's the job of each one of us to accomplish. I keep being reminded from the Lord, that I am to pray that the Lord will prepare hearts, that are ready to hear the saving message of the gospel. I then pray that the Lord would prepare me also, as I go out into the world, into my workplace, into the market place, in my neighborhood, or where ever the Lord wants to send me. I pray that I would be a clean vessel, that God can use to witness to a world that is lost and on its way to hell. Then I pray for the Lord's guidance and wisdom, and surrender my whole being, to Him. I pray and ask God to use my feet to take me to those individuals whose hearts He has made ready, and that He would use my mouth to speak His words, not my words. In my experience, when I have begun my day in prayer like I mentioned, then the Lord has giving me success in witnessing to others, and that has been in answer to prayer. It truly is God's desire to use each one of us for His glory, but it gives us each encouragement and boldness to witness further when we see success in our seed planting and witnessing. Praise be to God, to Him alone belongs the praise honor and glory. Blessings New Creature |

There is something that is missing in the church that I attend now and as a result it seems like a direct violation of Scripture. The First church that I attended, after I was saved, always made time to hear testimony from those that had put their faith and trust in the finish works of the Lord Jesus. Psalm 107:1-2 O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. 2Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy; Psalm 40:9-10 I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, thou knowest. 10I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation. I think this should be a vital part of any churches worship service. Psalm 34:3 O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together. Psalm 96:2 Sing unto the LORD, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day. Psalm 105:1 O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. Psalm 107:31-32 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! 32Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders. Psalm 111:1 Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation. I truly miss this function, CDBJ |

CDBJ It may be possible that the Lord has burdened your heart in such a manner, in order that you might be the first person to have this missed function again become part of your worship service. The church I attend, each Sunday sets aside a section of the worship service, where they pass a microphone around for a time for praise, testimony, answers to previous prayers and new prayer requests. I think this should be part of the worship service every week, as it is a the church I attend. Blessings New Creature |

That sounds like a great idea. It's always interesting to see how the Lord has been working in people's lives. 2 Cor. 3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. Gave a great day, CDBJ |
