1 | HOW COULD JESUS BE A DESCENDANT OF DAVID | Bible general Archive 1 | meusing | 39439
We all deserve punishment. That is why Jesus came. Is 53:4 Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy]. [Matt. 8:17.] 5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole. Rom 3:21 But now the righteousness of God has been revealed independently and altogether apart from the Law, although actually it is attested by the Law and the Prophets, 22 Namely, the righteousness of God which comes by believing with personal trust and confident reliance on Jesus Christ (the Messiah). [And it is meant] for all who believe. For there is no distinction, 23 Since all have sinned and are falling short of the honor and glory which God bestows and receives. 24 [All] are justified and made upright and in right standing with God, freely and gratuitously by His grace (His unmerited favor and mercy), through the redemption which is [provided] in Christ Jesus, 25 Whom God put forward [before the eyes of all] as a mercy seat and propitiation by His blood [the cleansing and life-giving sacrifice of atonement and reconciliation, to be received] through faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in His divine forbearance He had passed over and ignored former sins without punishment. 26 It was to demonstrate and prove at the present time (in the now season) that He Himself is righteous and that He justifies and accepts as righteous him who has [true] faith in Jesus. that is why Jesus could say : John 3:18 He who believes in Him [who clings to, trusts in, relies on Him] is not judged [he who trusts in Him never comes up for judgment; for him there is no rejection, no condemnation--he incurs no damnation]; but he who does not believe (cleave to, rely on, trust in Him) is judged already [he has already been convicted and has already received his sentence] because he has not believed in and trusted in the name of the only begotten Son of God. [He is condemned for refusing to let his trust rest in Christ's name.] |

God came into the world of sinners, to save the human race from a world of corruption. A simple soldier gives up his life to defend a nation. God gave up his life to save the world. When he came he clean the world from corruption. And so the christian life began. All those who believe in him try to live a christian way of life. When he returns at the end of time, he will hold us accountable for our sins. He will be our judge and executioner.

Dear JdthCstl, Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus! "For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each man's work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man's work. If any man's work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. If any man's work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire." 1 Corinthians 3:11-15 NASB. Friend, Jesus IS the Righteous Judge, but He is NOT my executioner. Jesus is my Lord and Savior! In Christ Jesus, charis |

Dear JdthCstl, Greetings in the name of Jesus! I KNOW He is my Lord and Savior! But I don't think that Jesus considers me a 'pawn.' (frankly, that is the first time I have heard this term used for Christians) Pawn- 1) one of the chessmen of least value... 2) one that can be used to further the purposes of another. Merriam-Webster. It seems to me that the Lord considers each and every one of us to be of great value, and we are not chosen simply to further His divine purposes. We are His wormanship, each a masterpiece in His perfect creation, the apple of His eye! Though we are but rubbish, He has caused each of us to be a valuable member of His holy church. Hardly 'pawns.' Fighting at Armageddon? I am battling NOW! But in the end, our foe will be vanquished with a single word, a breath from His mighty mouth. I don't know if there is really anything but 'Christians' in God's sight. In any case, man on earth has no way to measure 'true' or 'false' Christians except to judge by outward appearance. We do not know the heart, but our Lord does! If WE try to measure, David and Moses and just about everybody (including ourselves!) would belong in hell. "For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:2 NASB. (Jesus is still not my 'executioner!') Blessings and peace in Christ Jesus, charis |
