1 | Speaking in tongues...not saved? | Bible general Archive 1 | RAVEN | 36485
I am sorry to offend you with my question. But it seemed like the original question Nedra had was answered. You wrote: (I don't see any mention of tongues, or baptism for that matter, in these or any other verse in scripture.) and I wrote: (Also read 1 Cor chapter 13 and 14. Chapter 13 says that tongues will cease along with other miracles when that which is perfect comes.) But you were the one my friend that ask: (Did you really mean to say that in addition to faith in Christ, we must be baptized before our salvation is recieved?) And in replying to that I looked at your profile because I thought it would help me to better understand where your question to me was coming from. If you didn't want anybody to read it you shouldn't have put it on there. I will be glad to look at Galatians with you. Give me a little time to write you back. Your friend in Christ, Raven |

RAVEN and John Reformed, Good Day to you! I noticed that the question regarding speaking in tongues got into the subject of it being nessesary to be baptized in order to be saved. I have a question on this subject Reference Luke 23:32 through 43. (32)...Two others also, who were criminals,... (42)...Jesus, Remember me when You come in Your Kingdom. (43)..., Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in paradise. My question is, and not challenging you but would just like to know, was the criminal excused from baptism? If the criminal was from that region he would have heard of John the baptist wouldn't he? That may be an unfair question because we do not know where the criminal was from. I would welcome comments from anyone on the forum. Much Love in Christ, Cyclist |

Cyclist, the criminal on the cross was no more or less excused from salvific water baptism than any one has ever been, because salvific water baptism does not exist. What does exist is regeneration by the Holy Spirit that comes by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. --Hank
