Hey Doc, Are you saying that God will or does use cancer to conform us to the image of his son.Why would God put something like cancer, which we've been redeemed from back on us.The whole purpose of Jesus's death was to remove the curse and everything that went along with it. |

Dear PDAL, You asked, "Are you saying that God will or does use cancer to conform us to the image of his son." (sic) No, I am saying that God employs ALL things in order to accomplish His eternal purpose (Isaiah 14:24-27; 46:11b; 2 Timothy 1:9), of which the conforming of the elect to the image of His son is a part (Ephesians 1:4; Romans 8:28-29; 9:11; Hebrews 2:11-15). You asked, "Why would God put something like cancer, which we've been redeemed from back on us." (sic) Redemption addresses the issue of sin for fallen men (Ephesians 2:5). Restoration will address the issues of other things for a fallen world (Revelation 21:1-4). If the gospel were about physical healing it would be a dismal failure, since ultimately every one of us dies of disease! In Him, Doc |

That is not entirely accurate Doc, there are many many cases where they simply say death was due to 'heart failure' if you read up on some medical journals you'll see that this is simply the heart stops, its not classified as a disease, just something that the medical community knows to happen. You don't have to be sick to go home to be with the Lord.

Ah. I had supposed heart failure was a failure of the heart.

It doesn't have to be a failure as your dictionary would define it. It can simply be that the heart stops, as Christians we should understand that we have eternal life. That life could not be so eternal if we had to rely on heart always beating in order to be eternally living.

I'm sorry, John 3:16 should suffice to show that we are given eternal life.
