Grace and Truth, I have not tried to insult the Church of Christ. What I have done, and so have the majority of this forum, is to bring into question some of the major beliefs and practices of this denominaton and show, in the light of Scripture, that this denomination by no means has the corner on salvation, that the rest of us Christians are not necessarily members of heretical, man-made organizations. What we have said about your denomination is mild in comparison to what you and your two fellow associates have said about our "man-made" organizations. But look, what are we accomplishing by this discord and disharmony that has been seen among you Church of Christ people versus the forum at large? Are you honoring Christ by pitting your denomination's beliefs against the beliefs of the majority of the forum in an attempt to prove everyone wrong but yourselves? Am I honoring Him by engaging in open and bitter debates about doctrinal issues, on and on, and never without end? You and the fellow believers of your denomination have converted no one and have not fostered unity among this community of believers here on the forum. So what is your point, what do you expect to gain by constant repetition of the tenets of your faith? We already know what they are and where you stand. I bear you no ill will toward you, Grace and Truth, nor to any of your fellow believers of the Church of Christ. But, come now, let us reason together. Is this continual line of dialogue and haranguing about doctrinal issues taking us where we as Christians united by the cross of Christ should go? I rest my case. No longer will I respond to this thread or to any other thread that does nothing but rehash the same doctrinal issues to which a solution is most improbable. --Hank

John 1:17 Tells us that grace and truth came by Jesus Christ, that's what were all about, sharing God's grace and truth. I asked this question before, can we have God's grace without his truth? and no one gave a answer. You say we in the Church of Christ pitt our goup against this forum and it's members, and you say it's discord, but the book of Jude tells us to "earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints", so I don't consider myself or members of Church of Christ as doing something wrong! I believe that is the purpose of this forum, to bring out the truth in God's word. It's not against you personally, but it is against false teaching that's running like a wild fire through this forum, and if nobody is aware of it, it won't be stopped. It's not about converting anyone to the Church of Christ, It's about shinning the light of the truth! Here's a thought, we are going to be judged by the things that are written in the bible right! So why not make your calling and election sure! Why not contend for the faith down to the last second, if you sat down with a true member of the Church of Christ, you would find that we only want the best for you and all men, because we know that God is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentence, this is why I am involved in this forum, because I care about the souls of men. The bible teaches that men should hear the Gospel of Christ and believe it, repent of their sins, confess the name of Jesus, and be baptized for the remission of their sins, and live faithful unto death. THAT'S ALL WE IN THE CHURCH OF CHRIST WANT TO DO IN THIS WORLD, IS TELL THE TRUTH!

No denomination has the corner on salvation. There are members of every denom. who are saved and who are lost, every one, yours is no exception. I heard a story today about a COC man. Seems like when my Bible teacher was working at Keesler AFB, there was a CO, a secretary and a Lt. The CO was COC, the secretary was lost and LT was christian, don't know what denom. But Lt was trying to witness to sec and CO got mad about it and forbid Lt to talk to sec any more because he wasn't teaching COC way, Lt was transferred. So Lt gave her a Bible before he left, left it on her desk, and on a front page wrote several scriptures that he wanted her to study. The CO saw the Bible before she did, grabbed it, tore out the page that the Lt wrote the scriptures on, then gave it to her. About a yr later, the sec. saw the Lt again, told him about CO tearing the page out and said that later on he even tried to hit on her. The moral of the story is not everyone that belongs to any one particular denom is right and all are not going to Heaven. We are saved as individuals, not as to what denom we belong to. |
