1 | GOD and Paul | 1 Cor 7:1 | corin | 172923
1 Corinthians 7:1 to at least verse 6 is PURELY OPINION of Paul so it will fits the verses in Genesis ? 1. 1 Corinthians 7:1 Now concerning the things about which you wrote, it is good for a man not to touch a woman. 2. 1 Corinthians 7:12 where Paul says, "But to the rest speak I(Paul) NOT the Lord." 3. God did DECLARE at creation that "it is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help fit for him" (Gen. 2:18). Marriage was instituted by God and is the norm for society; it is a great blessing to mankind ? SPIRITUAL is not determined by one's marital status ? |

2 | GOD and Paul | 1 Cor 7:1 | prayon | 172929
Greetings corin, Paul had been speaking what the Lord revealed to him prior to this statement. This time however he states "I (not the Lord) say to the rest of you". The directions he was about to give Jesus had not spoken directly about or was there anything written in the scriptures that addressed the question he had been asked, However we need to remember that the Spirit lived in Paul and it would probably be a good assumption that he was speaking from divine inspiration (1Co 7:6 But I speak this according to permission, not according to commandment). Indeed marriage is a great blessing to mankind. Our nature is fleshly and marriage can protect us from the sins of lust and fornication - there lies part of the blessing! And No! NO! and NO again - our spirituality is not determined by our marital status. Hope this helps. prayon |

4 | God and His creation | 1 Cor 7:1 | lionheart | 172958
Corin, God's Word never changes,it's the same today as it was the day it was given by God.It is not encumbant on God or His Word to change just because the values and morals change. It is encumbent on people to change according to God's Word. It might seem a little sour at first, but as people change there heart twards God it wont. 2 Timothy 2:15 comes in real handy here. In Christ, lionheart |

6 | am i right? | 1 Cor 7:1 | Jagfire | 172993
Paul says some have the gift of singleness, and some the gift of marriage. It's not necessarily God's will for everybody to get married. Paul did not have to worry about the extra problems and stresses that come with marriage/family. He devoted his entire life to spreading the Word of God. He could not have been such a useful messenger to all of us if he had been married. Don't get me wrong - some people do better as a team, serving God as a couple and a family. Both kinds of people are equally important. It is not a sin to remain single, even your entire life. The most important things in life are not in finding a mate and having children, but in serving God. |

10 | Adam should choose God instead of eve? | 1 Cor 7:1 | kalos | 173007
Adam did not choose Eve over God. God never said Adam had to make a choice: God or Eve? The purpose of Eve's creation was not to test Adam's loyalty to God. If Adam had rejected Eve, He would have been disobeying God and going against God's purpose and plan. And God certainly did not create Eve in order to tempt Adam to do evil. |
