Bible Question (short): Confused about divorce |
Question (full): I am very confused right now. I need some answers about some of the choices I've made over the recent years. My husband and I were together before marriage and had a child. That year we got married. The only thing is, I was raised as a christian and he chose no religion. We were young when we got married. it's been 7 years of marriage. He does not want to go to church or involve himself in the church with me. I have sinned by having a 3 yr adulterous relationship. But my hsband and I are still legally married. We are living seperate though. I chose the wrong path by doing so. Before I did that, I tried to get help for our relationship. For years begging for counseling. And I wanted to bring our children up in the way of the lord. I know I am wrong for what I did. There's no way around it.Butif my husband is a non-believer then should I have to stay? He believes that thereis a being but not necessarily God. He also does not want to participate in spiritual growth. He tells the kids that church is boring. I am trying to raise them in the right way but he shouldn't discourage them. I want to be forgiven for what I've done. The man that i was with for three years was raised in the way of the lord. Being together has seriously plagued us. We love each other. But we loved each other enough to leave each other alone. We realized that even though we love each other, we have to love God first. Is there a chance that I could have happiness and be forgiven. I have not completely thrown my husband away. But if we are uneven in yolk. Meaning he is unwilling to seek spirituality, will I be condemned if we divorce? Will God forgive me since I have refrained from adulterous ways? And will I have the chance to remarry one day? |
