Hello LimeJuice My wife and I saw JC Superstar before we met. We agreed that the only similarity between it and the Bible were the names and the setting. After that it was all hogwash. Andrew Lloyd Weber stated that he wrote this as looking through the eyes of Judas Iscariot. With that in mind, it could never be close to the truth. Steve |

Steve, what can I say? Read the words to Mary Magdalene's song, and that was only ONE song in the whole play. The whole play portrayed many characters' feelings towards Jesus, not just Judas'. The play, is, in short, the gospel. It is the gospel in a different form, than perhaps you are used to, but remember, Paul said that he became all things to all people, in hopes that through him Christ may save some. I can testify that the Holy Spirit reached me through this play. Love and Blessings, LimeJuice

The Play portrays Jesus as having failed. The good news is that Jesus is risen victorious over sin and death. The play shows that Judas was the hero and that the power of evil was too great for Jesus to overcome. |

The play does NOT portray Jesus as having failed. Where in the world would you get an idea like that?

It leaves Him hanging on the cross, Judas work is done. In the play there is no resurrection.

The play does not deny that .... didn't Jesus often ask us to make up our own minds about Who He Is? Just because the play stops there does not mean that He did not rise, of course. I can see how you might think that, but, please give the listeners, those who the Holy Spirit will touch through the play, some credit for being able to see that Jesus does rise. Love ya!
