1 | No speaking in tongues, no Holy Spirit? | Acts 2:4 | Appleseed | 10328
If a person does not speak in tongues does it mean they don't have the Holy Spirit in them? I know that speaking in tongues is a gift but is there another view?
2 | No speaking in tongues, no Holy Spirit? | Acts 2:4 | Tom J | 10330
In first Cor. chapter 12, the gift of tongues is listed as given to some. To others other gifts were given, by the same Spirit. Does that meen that those that recieved the gift of healing or other gifts, and not the gift of tongues, they were not saved? Or that they did not have the Holy Spirit inside of them? I don't think so. 1 Cor. 3:16 says that we have the Holy Spirit inside of us if we are born again. Chapter 12:1 calls them "spiritual gifts". Verse 4 says they come from the same Spirit. (big "S") 1 cor. 13:8-10 tells us that tongues "SHALL cease" when that which is perfect is come. When and what is that? I know, but you should study this one yourself. Tom J |

3 | No speaking in tongues, no Holy Spirit? | Acts 2:4 | EdB | 10334
Tom J A goodly number of theologians feel the “prefect” is when the cannon for the New Testament came to close and the New Testament was completed. Another large group feel the “perfect” is Jesus’ second coming. To which do you subscribe? Personally I’m of the later group and believe the gifts are very much for today. Ed |
