To Nolan: I am curious as to why you want to avoid Joyce Meyer. Will be waiting for your answer. Shell
2 | No Joyce Meyer?????????????????? | Acts 17:11 | Makarios | 27133
Greetings Shell! In a former answer to you, I presented the Scripture in Acts 17:11, as an example to follow concerning the teachings that you may hear or learn about from any pastor or group or even a fellow Forum member! :-) I have seen and scrutinized Joyce Meyer's teachings in much the same way that the Bereans did to Paul in Acts 17:11. However, I have found many of Joyce's teachings as very "unsound" (to say the least) in light of Scripture. And apparently, I am not alone in choosing to avoid the teachings of Joyce Meyer, since I have noticed that other Forum members feel the exact same way. So if it is true that more than one Christian finds several teachings of the same teacher as "suspect" in the light of Scripture, then that teacher's views must be challenged to see if they are Scripturally based. And I have found that many of the teachings of Joyce Meyer are not Scripturally based. Blessings to you, Nolan |

3 | No Joyce Meyer?????????????????? | Acts 17:11 | Shell | 27227
Greeting to you Nolan!! I have been watching Joyce every morning for quite awhile and so far she is just talking. Sometimes she will quote a verse and then talk about it. So far, I have not heard anything that I take exception to, or have not felt a check in my spirit. Maybe I have not heard one of her sermons that is un scripitual. So far, most of what I have heard is talking about her life and her kids and making funnies. But I will listen more closely and see if there is something there that I am missing. I really hate this, it seems that every time I find a pastor that makes things interesting, there is something wrong with them. I love listening to Jimmy Swaggart, but since his fall, my tv station does not carry him. What do you think about John Hagee?? I am in my Bible daily and the only pastor, teacher and leader that will tell me the whole truth is God's word and the Holy Spirit. I just pray that I interpert what the Holy Spirit tells me, I don't always know what he is saying to me!!! Ever have that problem? Thanks, Shell
4 | No Joyce Meyer?????????????????? | Acts 17:11 | Makarios | 27229
Hello Shell! Yes, Joyce Meyer can play to an audience, that is for sure! :-) I would continue to keep my "ears open" though.. John Hagee is a good preacher with a lot of energy and wit, and I like him despite his views on eschatology. I haven't heard a "false" interpretation yet from John Hagee, even though he does appear on the Trinity Broadcasting Network, a station that I usually do not watch. But I really haven't seen enough of John Hagee to warrant a particular "verdict" on him. The Television pastors that I like and usually listen to are Charles Stanley and D. James Kennedy. I also like "The John Ankerberg Show" and "The Bible with Les Feldick". Those are the television pastors/teachers that I watch. But of course, that is my opinion alone! :-) Yes! I understand where you are coming from when you say that you don't always know what He is saying to you! But I believe that with prayer and guidance, the Holy Spirit will reveal to you those things that you need to know in time. You are not alone, my friend! Blessings to you, Nolan |
