1 | Please explain the Trinity. | John 1:1 | Morant61 | 30032
Greetings Ethan! Actually, English is fairly sloopy. Forms change at random. Spelling is inconsistent. Yes, one can use many words to clarify one's meaning. However, Greek can do the same thing with far less words and much more clarity. Yet, even Biblical Greek is not the most precise. The New Testament was written in Koine Greek, or Common Greek. It was the language of the market. Much more precise was Classical Greek. The point I was trying to make is simply this: Any language can be percise if one piles on adjectives, nouns, adverbs, and prepositional phrases. However, Greek includes many of these elements right into the form of the word. Let's use an easy example. Let's take this English sentance: I was loosing myself. It takes four words to express this meaning in English. In Greek, the entire sentance would be: eluoman. This is what I mean when I say that Greek is more precise. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Yes Tim the English is very sloppy but can used with the most precision to find the short falls in other languages, as you have pointed out. Bless you. i am using the literal sense of precise, and Spelling is not inconsistent. people are, as you know English came from england and that hasnt really changed it is the people that use it. Like in Australia we say colour and you guys say color ,and grey and gray.differnt countries different spelling. you see if it wasnt for the english we wouldnt be able to break down other languages in such a precise way. Bless you.

I wrote that Tim you wrote Yet, even Biblical Greek is not the most precise. The New Testament was written in Koine Greek, or Common Greek. It was the language of the market. Much more precise was Classical Greek. we have words in english, unique to english, that decribe and to do the same in any other language is impossible. for english has fixed all the finer details. we can even explain the details. Yes Australia is very nice but at the moment we are going thru a heat wave. 40deg celcius. bless you. |

Greetings Ethan! I don't remember my conversion formula! How hot is 40 degrees C in F? It is 30 degrees F where I live (Evansville, IN USA). I don't really know why I have always wanted to visit Australia, I just remember seeing some really nice pictures when I was younger. :-) Not to beat a dead horse, but what kind of details can one give in English that it is not possible to do in Greek? Your Brother in Christ! Tim Moran |

6 | Please explain the Trinity. | John 1:1 | charis | 30150
Dear Tim and Ethan, F equals 9/5C plus 32. 40C equals 104F. C equals 5/9 (F minus 32). 30F equals -1C. At least mathematics is pretty precise. :-) In Christ Jesus, charis |

Thank you, Randy! Just the other day I was in a discussion with a friend of mine about Absolute Zero, and I was looking for these formulas.. Now, all I have to do is type in "C equals charis" in the Search function and I can find it! :-) In Christ, Nolan |
