2 | Are we presenting the gospel scripturaly | John 1:12 | mark d seyler | 172663 | ||
Hi John, I know I'm good at what my wife calls following bunny trails, and I tend to wind up just anywhere! :-) If these verses can be interpreted both ways, then I would say we need to fall back on other verses about the same topic that are more distinct, and see what light they shed on these less distinct passages. That leads me to the same conclusion, as I have already examined those verses, the aforementioned, and so I would conclude that the book of life is a list of names, of which those who are reckoned sinners are blotted out (Ex. 32, Ps. 69), and those who are not reckoned sinners are not blotted out (Rev. 3). From this I would conclude that the book of life originally contained all the names of all who lived. What do you think? Love in Christ, Mark PS - the more I think about the perfect tense, the more this makes sense to me. |
