1 | Iam having some questions | John 17:1 | KcabmI4 | 212434 | ||
Hello John Thank you for your post. Yes my Christmas was wonderful as well. You are saying. "When we look at the whole of the Bible we see that there is but one way to be saved. God calls His own and His own hear Him." “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;” Eph 2:8 "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;” John 10:27 Everything you are saying hear is being the truth. Iam agreeing at all with you on these matters. you are saying "Now in the Old Testament for example, (let’s look through the telescope) we see there were many men and women of God that were saved by the grace of God." Where is it saying these peoples of the Old Testiment "they were saved by the grace of God" meaning Salvation. Salvation is through faith Christ Jesus. According to the Scripture. The people in the Old Testiment were not saved as we know salvation. Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. 1 Thessalonians 5:9 9--- For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 Thessalonians 2:13 13--- But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: 2 Timothy 3:15 15--- And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. Hebrews 2:3 3--- How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; (which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord,) and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; Hebrews 5:9 9--- And being made perfect, (he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;) Hebrews 9:28 28--- So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. 1 Peter 1:10,-12 10--- Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: 11--- Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. 12--- Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into. You are saying "And we know that when we are saved we are born again, so we know that all who are children of God are regenerate; they have been given the gift of indwelling Holy Spirit." The people in the Old Testiment were not born again. They could not be called the children of God because they were not regenerate. The only people in the Old Testiment that had the indwelling of the Holy Spirit were the Prophets. But that is not saying they were saved (regenerate) either. you are saying So now if we look at the lives of these Old Testament Saints, we can clearly see that through close examination, that, they sinned. Yes john you are speaking the truth. They did sin. But that was because they were under the Law Just look at Moses, (Num 20:8-12) when God clearly told him to speak to the Rock, Moses in anger and frustration struck the Rock with his staff, clearly disobeying the Command of God, which we know is a sin. Moses as his punishment for his sin. He was only alowed to see the promised land but God would not allow him to enter it. That was payment for his sin. Then we can look at the life of King David, (2 Sam 11) and see that he was not only an adulterer with Bathsheba, but also indirectly had Uriah her husband killed, so he was guilty as a murderer as well! David as his punishment. Had the son of the union die. That was payment for his sin. But Moses and David were not under Grace. They cannot be used as examples of sinning after salvation. Our sin has been taken by Jesus. We are forgiven. We are free from sin. Jesus has paid the price. John If it is being alright with you Iam going to be answering the last part of your post.separetly. Rom.7 Ref. It is being very important. To be having enough room to be answering properly. Your Brother In Christ KcabmI4 |
