1 | Iam having some questions | John 17:1 | stjohn | 212249
Hi Kcabm: It's good to see you are back here to study God's word with us! I'll try to answer as best I can. You ask: "What is it meaning when Jesus is saying. We and Him are not being of this world?" I think it means just what it says, but to put it in other words; we are in this sinful world, but we are not part of it. Just as He came from Heaven and is not part of His creation, He has come to dwell/live in us by His Holy Spirit, and as born again believers we can say Jesus lives in us. And as He is not part of this world, and because He is In us, we are not part of this world. We no longer belong to the world, but we now belong to God; We can call ourselves sons of God. "As He says also in Hosea, "I WILL CALL THOSE WHO WERE NOT MY PEOPLE, 'MY PEOPLE,' AND HER WHO WAS NOT BELOVED, 'BELOVED.'" "AND IT SHALL BE THAT IN THE PLACE WHERE IT WAS SAID TO THEM, 'YOU ARE NOT MY PEOPLE,' THERE THEY SHALL BE CALLED SONS OF THE LIVING GOD." Rom 9:25-26 We belong to Him and with Him and will be with Him for eternity. You ask: "How are we being kept from evil?" By the indwelling Holy Spirit, we no longer are held captive to a sinful life; we no longer live for the worldly lustful desires of the flesh and the word. But we live for higher things, and we seek Him, and we seek His gift's, and when we fail, we know He will keep us, for we are His sheep, and He is the good shepherd, and He will forgive us our sins, and wash us and impute righteousness unto us. You ask: "What is meaning when he is saying we are to be sanctified?" Sanctification is the process by which we learn and grow in righteousness and become more Christ-like as He by His Spirit and through His word (the Bible) teaches and changes us day by day, and year by year, as we learn and grow in the Lord. Easton's Bible Dictionary says this: "--Sanctification involves more than a mere moral reformation of character, brought about by the power of the truth: it is the work of the Holy Spirit bringing the whole nature more and more under the influences of the new gracious principles implanted in the soul in regeneration. In other words, sanctification is the carrying on to perfection the work begun in regeneration, and it extends to the whole man (Romans 6:13; 2 Corinthians 4:6; Colossians 3:10; 1 John 4:7; 1 Corinthians 6:19). It is the special office of the Holy Spirit in the plan of redemption to carry on this work (1 Corinthians 6:11; 2 Thessalonians 2:13). Faith is instrumental in securing sanctification, inasmuch as it (1) secures union to Christ (Galatians 2:20), and (2) brings the believer into living contact with the truth, whereby he is led to yield obedience "to the commands, trembling at the threatenings, and embracing the promises of God for this life and that which is to come." Perfect sanctification is not attainable in this life"-- Easton's Bible Dictionary "Jesus is saying He sends us into the world as He was by God." Yes, He was sent from Heaven (this does not diminish His equality with the Father) to teach the gospel, but more to save and redeem mankind from the power of sin and evil and from eternal hell. And as he also sends us into the world, not to say that every Christian is to go on a missionary journey but to preach the word at every opportunity. "He then is sanctifying Himself so we will be also sanctified through the truth." Not that He needed to be Sanctified, for He is and was always perfect, but that He willingly came to earth and through obedience lived a holy life in all ways perfect, and now in Him, we too can be brought to holiness through His living in us, and sanctified by the power of the Holy Spirit through His obedience and perfection. He is the truth, His word is truth. "Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me." John 14:6 I hope this helps God bless John |

Hello to you stjohn This is sounding very confusing to me. First you are saying "By the indwelling Holy Spirit, we no longer are held captive to a sinful life" When we are accepting of Jesus into our lives then we are forgiven our sins. Then you are saying. "and when we fail, we know He will keep us" If this failing of us is true. Is not this meaning we are still being held captive to a sinful life? What happened then to the forgivness when we accepted him? Then you are saying "He will forgive us our sins, and wash us and impute righteousness unto us" I think you are saying when we are failing he will be doing these things for us. But if this is true what happend to the first time he washed us and imputed righteousness to us? Are you saying that we are only forgiven past sins? That we are having to be washed and imputed with his righteousness all over again? Many times? Because I am beleaving that when we are becomming saved by Jesus for our sins. He washes us clean then the righteousness of God is imputed to us. It is said we are the righteousness of God in Christ.Rom. 3:22 This is the righteousness of God 1John 3:4-9 If we are failing as you are saying this is meaning we are loosing the righteousness of God. Which is not possable for this to be happening to us because we are having been sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise until the day of redemption Eph. 4:30 we cannot lose our salvation. If we are sinning then the righteousness of God and the Holy Spirit are not being very strong. Because you have said "By the indwelling Holy Spirit, we no longer are held captive to a sinful life" Iam not understanding why you are saying we can fail when it is saying we cannot. Thank you KcabmI4 |

3 | Iam having some questions | John 17:1 | stjohn | 212310
Kcabml4, This is what is part of our sanctification. Though we are indeed saved, we are still not perfect, and sometimes if we are honest with ourselves we can see that we do fail to be as Christlike as we are able, simply because He is the only one who is perfect. For instance; Do we always love our neighbor as ourselves? Or do we love God with all our heart and mind and soul and strength? I know though I try, I don't always do it as well as I should, and certainly not ever as well as Jesus did. Jesus said we should even love our enemy; And I know we don't do that very well do we? So when we sin, we need to acknowledge it to God, and He is faithful to cleans us of all unrighteousness. 1 John speaks to this truth in verses 8-10 "If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us." It is very important to see that John is not speaking to the unsaved, but he is speaking to born again believers. I hope this helps. John |

Hello stjohn You are saying "This is what is part of our sanctification." What are these other parts of us being sanctified? Iam not seeing where it is saying that the sanctification of us is being a process that is taking time to finally happen. The act to sanctify. Is the setting apart for the service of God. The people were told to sanctify themselves. That was only able to be done by them by the keeping of the Law The Jews had to keep the law for them to be sanctified by God. Lev 20:7,8 7--- (Sanctify yourselves) therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God. 8--- And ye shall (keep my statutes,) and do them: (I am the LORD which sanctify you.) God is the one doing the sanctifing of us. By the sacrifice of Jesus. This is taking place when we are accepting Jesus as our saviour. Eph. 2:5,8 5--- Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 8--- (For by grace are ye saved through faith;) and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: When we are sinning it is because we are trying to be keeping the Law. But it is saying we are being dead to the Law. And that we do not and cannot commit sin. And why. Romans 7:4 4--- Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become (dead to the law) by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. Romans 7:6 But now we are (delivered from the law,) that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. Romans 7:8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For (without the law sin was dead.) Galatians 2:19 19--- For I through the law am (dead to the law,) that I might live unto God. Galatians 2:21 21--- I do not frustrate the grace of God: for (if righteousness come by the law,) then Christ is dead in vain. 1 John 3:9 9--- (Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin;) (for his seed remaineth in him:) (and he cannot sin,) (because he is born of God.) We are then becomming the righreousness of God in Christ. Through his Grace. God imputes righteousness. But He does not impute Sin. Because through Jesus We are dead to the law Rom. 4:6 6--- Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom (God imputeth righteousness without works,) Rom. 4:8 8--- Blessed is the man to whom the (Lord will not impute sin.) Rom. 4:11 11--- And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that (righteousness might be imputed) unto them also: Rom. 4:22 22--- And therefore it was (imputed to him for righteousness.) Rom. 4:23 23--- Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; Rom. 4:24 24--- (But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed,) if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Rom. 5:13 13--- (For until the law sin was in the world:) (but sin is not imputed when there is no law.) If we are trying to be keeping the Law then we are beconning sinners that need a saviour. The Bible is saying we have been washed sanctified and justified 1 Cor. 6:11 11--- And such were some of you: (but ye are washed,) (but ye are sanctified,) but (ye are justified) in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. This is saying we are sanctified. Not that we are becomming sanctified. Hebrews 10:10 10--- By the which will (we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ) (once for all.) You are saying we are not perfect. This is saying we are perfected forever by Jesus Hebrews 10:14 14--- For by one offering he hath (perfected) (for ever them that are sanctified.) This is saying if we have been partakers of the Grace of God by repentance. We will not be able to do it again. And why. Hebrews 6:4-6 4--- For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, (and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,) 5--- (And have tasted the good word of God,) and the powers of the world to come, 6--- (If they shall fall away,) (to renew them again unto repentance;) (seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh,) (and put him to an open shame). This is saying if we sin we will be receiving a sorer punishment for those sins. And why Hebrews 10:29 29--- Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, (wherewith he was sanctified,) an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? 5 | Iam having some questions | John 17:1 | stjohn | 212364
Hi Kcabml, As christians, we are sanctified, we are being sanctified, and, we will be sanctified. -"Jesus had a lot to say about sanctification in the Book of John, chapter 17. In verse 16 the Lord says, “They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world,” and this is before His request: “Sanctify them in the truth: Thy word is truth.” Sanctification is a state of separation unto God; all believers enter into this state when they are born of God: “But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption” (1 Corinthians 1:30). This is a once-for-ever separation, eternally unto God. It is an intricate part of our salvation, our connection with Christ (Hebrews 10:10). Sanctification also refers to the practical experience of this separation unto God, being the effect of obedience to the Word of God in one’s life, and is to be pursued by the believer earnestly 1 Peter 1:15; Hebrews 12:14. Just as the Lord prayed in John 17, it has in view the setting apart of believers for the purpose for which they are sent into the world: “As Thou didst send Me into the world, even so send I them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth” (v. 18, 19). That He set Himself apart for the purpose for which He was sent is both the basis and the condition of our being set apart for that for which we are sent (John 10:36). His sanctification is the pattern of, and the power for, ours. The sending and the sanctifying are inseparable. On this account they are called saints, hagioi in the Greek; “sanctified ones.” Whereas previously their behavior bore witness to their standing in the world in separation from God, now their behavior should bear witness to their standing before God in separation from the world. There is one more sense that the word sanctification is referred to in Scripture. Paul prayed in 1 Thessalonians 5:23, “The God of peace Himself sanctify you wholly; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved entire, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Paul also wrote in Colossians of “the hope which is laid up for you in the heavens, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the Gospel” (Colossians 1:5). He later speaks of Christ Himself as “the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27) and then mentions the fact of that hope when he says, “When Christ, who is our Life, shall be manifested, then shall ye also with Him be manifested in glory” (Colossians 3:4). This glorified state will be our ultimate separation from sin, total sanctification in every aspect. “Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is” (1 John 3:2). To summarize, sanctification is the same Greek word as holiness, “hagios,” meaning a separation. First, a once-for-all positional separation unto Christ at our salvation. Second, a practical progressive holiness in a believer’s life while awaiting the return of Christ. Third, we will be changed into His perfect likeness—holy, sanctified, and completely separated from the presence of evil."-- http://www.gotquestions.org/sanctification.html --"While there is not a Bible verse that specifically states we commit a sinful act each day, we do have verses that remind us that we have inherited the capacity to sin at any moment. "Sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned" (Romans 5:12). "Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me" (Psalm 51:5). In addition, we have commands that we know we never keep, much less on a daily basis. For instance, who can claim to love God with all his heart, mind and soul every moment of every day? No one. Yet, that is the greatest commandment (Matthew 22:36-38). Failing to love God completely at all times is a daily sin for all Christians. We also have a verse that warns us of the deceitfulness of our old sinful nature, which in a sense is warning us of the potential, if not the likelihood, of daily sin. "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9). Even the apostle Paul was frustrated with his own battle against indwelling sin. "For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members" (Romans 7:22-23). This capacity to sin led him to cry in desperation, “What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death?” (Romans 7:24). Again, while these verses do not unequivocally indicate daily sin, they certainly warn us against the pride of saying at any moment that we have no sin."-- http://www.gotquestions.org/sin-daily.html Merry Christmas John |

Hello stjohn When we are receiving Jesus as savior we receive a new nature. This new nature is his nature. This nature of Jesus cannot sin. Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. 1 John 3:9 9--- Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 1 John 5:18 18--- We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not. John 1:13 13--- Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. When we are becomming saved (born again) we are receiveing the nature of Jesus. But we are also keeping everything we had before we are saved. We become dead to the flesh. And alive to the spirit Rom. 8:10 10--- And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 1 Pet. 3:18 18--- For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: Galatians 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. Rom. 7:25 25--- I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. Before we were being saved, we were ruled only by the deceitful lusts of the flesh. Galatians 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. Ephesians 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; Then our mind is renewed by God. To righteousness and holyness Eph. 4:23,24 23--- And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24--- And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. After we are saved we seek after spiritual things. We start reading the Bible. This is something we are never doing before we are becomming saved. But now we are having the Spirit of God dwelling inside of us. And our new nature. The nature of Jesus because we are born of God. Psalm 119:105 105--- Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. John 6:63 63--- It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. We have been brought into the Perfect Law of liberty by Jesus sacrifice for us. This Liberty means we cannot sin. James 1:22-25 22--- But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23--- For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24--- For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25--- But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. May God be Blessing You and Your Family This Cristmas and all of the Year 2009 KcabmI4 |

Hello to you Val It is strange to me that the first 2 lines of my post are the only thing you are making a comment on. Did you not read the rest of my post? I used 15 different scriptures. I would be saying to you that approximate 75 percent of my post is scripture. So to be answering your question. "NO" Iam not saying "that a born again christian no longer sins?" The scripture that I posted has said it. These are not what Iam saying they say. These are not the doctrins of a religion. These are saying what they say by the Holy Spirit as he moved upon holy men to record the words of God for us in the Bible. If you would read all of the posts of mine to stjohn. Then you would be seeing there are alot more scriptures. That are saying the same thing. There are litterally hunderads of them if you have ears to hear. And Eyes to see. These words that we are using in our daily life with other christians. Iam Forgiven I have Freedom Iam Justified I have Salvation Iam Sanctified I have been Purified I have been Redeemed. All of these are what we "HAVE RECEIVED" from GOD upon our salvation. They are not things we have to work out in our lives for them to be attributed to us by God. That would then be by WORKS. And we all know and agree that it is by Grace that we are saved through Faith. And that not of ourselves lest any man should boast. How Soverign is God in our lives? Is it impossable for Him to have given to us absolute freedom from sin? Thereby allowing us to come into His Rest. Because we have ceased from our labours. As God has ceased from His. Dear Sister Val, regarding your question "Are you saying that a born again christian no longer sins?" Are you saying that a born again christian does? 1 John 3:9 9--- Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 1 John 5:18 18--- We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not. John 1:13 13--- Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. With these kinds of scriptures how do we refute them? Any scripture that you will find that does refute them would then be a "Contradiction" of scripture. Iam saying this because these are direct statements made by God. Which have been added into our canon of the scriptures. They are not an interpratatin of them by scholars. There then is a question. Why would anyone that has been given freedom from sin want to live any longer therein. He who is free is free indeed. Why would we want to beleave anthing less of God? Our Father has given us Foregivness from sin. Because we have asked this of Him. He has not given to us a stone instead. You see we all have a choice to make. It is not weather we will Sin or not. But weather we will walk in the Flesh or in the Spirit. This is the renewing of our minds. Because these things are spiritually descerned. If you walk in the Spirit you will not fulfill the lusts of the Flesh. Have yourself a Merry Christmas and be Blessed in the comming yr. Your brother in Christ KcabmI4 |

9 | Iam having some questions | John 17:1 | stjohn | 212408
Dear Kcabml, Merry Christmas! The question has been asked, indirectly, and directly. Can we honestly say that we obey The greatest commandment? Can you say that you obey it? Mark 12:30 AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.' I'd like an honest answer please. I have another question for you. Did Peter the Apostle of God, sin after he was born again, when he would not eat with the Gentiles in the presence of those who opposed these things, and Paul had to rebuke him for playing the Hypocrite? 10 | Iam having some questions | John 17:1 | KcabmI4 | 212423
Hello to you John Hope you have had a good Christmas holiday I wiil be answering the second question of you first if you are not minding. "Did Peter sin when he would not eat with the Gentiles in the presence of those who opposed these things" Gal. 2:11,12 11--- But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed. 12--- For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, (fearing them which were of the circumcision.) When we are seeing that Peter seperated himself. The reason he was seperating himself was because of the fear he had about what the ones from Jerusalem would say. Because he did already eat with them before they came. The answer to you would then be "NO" Peter did not sin. This is only my judgement being based upon his actions. And his motives for not eating with the Gentiles. But my judgement means nothing when I put it next to the scripture (word of God) (bible) 1 John 3:9 9--- Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 1 John 5:18 18--- We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not. Could you also be answering this question. If you are not agreeing with mine. Iam working on the other question for you Your brother KcabmI4 |

11 | Iam having some questions | John 17:1 | stjohn | 212425
Hello, Kcabml, I must say you ask hard questions! This is very good, but it puts me to task. That’s okay though I’ll gladly do my best. By the way, I hope you had a good and blessed Christmas as well. Mine was absolutly wonderfull! :-) There are different ways to view Scripture; one is with a ‘Telescope’, (an overview of the whole) and another is with a ‘Microscope’ (a more narrow view, being one, or just a few verses or passages). When we look at the whole of the Bible we see that there is but one way to be saved. God calls His own and His own hear Him. “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;” Eph 2:8 "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;” John 10:27 Now in the Old Testament for example, (let’s look through the telescope) we see there were many men and women of God that were saved by the grace of God. And we know that when we are saved we are born again, so we know that all who are children of God are regenerate; they have been given the gift of indwelling Holy Spirit. So now if we look at the lives of these Old Testament Saints, we can clearly see that through close examination, that, they sinned. Just look at Moses, (Num 20:8-12) when God clearly told him to speak to the Rock, Moses in anger and frustration struck the Rock with his staff, clearly disobeying the Command of God, which we know is a sin. Then we can look at the life of King David, (2 Sam 11) and see that he was not only an adulterer with Bathsheba, but also indirectly had Uriah her husband killed, so he was guilty as a murderer as well! Then looking now at the New Testament, we can look at the life of Paul after he was saved and he finds in himself the warring of the godly nature and the nature of sin that we still struggle with from time to time, (Romans 7) and if we are honest with ourselves we know we cannot even keep the greatest of God’s commandments. The focus of, (1 John 3) is Christian love, and we need to understand that it is the way God sees us that this is talking about when it says we cannot sin. It is Christ’s righteousness He is looking at and not our own; and it rather is saying that we no longer can live for sin, or live in and be dominated and controlled by it as the unbelievers are. These verses are given to us as an encouragement, and there is a danger of becoming legalistic if we take them too literally, because we can still make mistakes, but when we do and satin accuses us, we know we have an advocate at the right hand of God, our savior, Jesus Christ. I hope this helps. God bless John |

Hello John Thank you for your post. Yes my Christmas was wonderful as well. You are saying. "When we look at the whole of the Bible we see that there is but one way to be saved. God calls His own and His own hear Him." “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;” Eph 2:8 "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;” John 10:27 Everything you are saying hear is being the truth. Iam agreeing at all with you on these matters. you are saying "Now in the Old Testament for example, (let’s look through the telescope) we see there were many men and women of God that were saved by the grace of God." Where is it saying these peoples of the Old Testiment "they were saved by the grace of God" meaning Salvation. Salvation is through faith Christ Jesus. According to the Scripture. The people in the Old Testiment were not saved as we know salvation. Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. 1 Thessalonians 5:9 9--- For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 Thessalonians 2:13 13--- But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: 2 Timothy 3:15 15--- And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. Hebrews 2:3 3--- How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; (which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord,) and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; Hebrews 5:9 9--- And being made perfect, (he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;) Hebrews 9:28 28--- So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. 1 Peter 1:10,-12 10--- Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: 11--- Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. 12--- Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into. You are saying "And we know that when we are saved we are born again, so we know that all who are children of God are regenerate; they have been given the gift of indwelling Holy Spirit." The people in the Old Testiment were not born again. They could not be called the children of God because they were not regenerate. The only people in the Old Testiment that had the indwelling of the Holy Spirit were the Prophets. But that is not saying they were saved (regenerate) either. you are saying So now if we look at the lives of these Old Testament Saints, we can clearly see that through close examination, that, they sinned. Yes john you are speaking the truth. They did sin. But that was because they were under the Law Just look at Moses, (Num 20:8-12) when God clearly told him to speak to the Rock, Moses in anger and frustration struck the Rock with his staff, clearly disobeying the Command of God, which we know is a sin. Moses as his punishment for his sin. He was only alowed to see the promised land but God would not allow him to enter it. That was payment for his sin. Then we can look at the life of King David, (2 Sam 11) and see that he was not only an adulterer with Bathsheba, but also indirectly had Uriah her husband killed, so he was guilty as a murderer as well! David as his punishment. Had the son of the union die. That was payment for his sin. But Moses and David were not under Grace. They cannot be used as examples of sinning after salvation. Our sin has been taken by Jesus. We are forgiven. We are free from sin. Jesus has paid the price. John If it is being alright with you Iam going to be answering the last part of your post.separetly. Rom.7 Ref. It is being very important. To be having enough room to be answering properly. Your Brother In Christ KcabmI4 |

13 | Iam having some questions | John 17:1 | CDBJ | 212438
Greetings, I have read your comments on the modus operandi of those that have trusted in Christ for their salvation, But am I comprehending you correctly, i.e. that it is "your understanding" of scripture that while we are yet still in the flesh, that we who are saved, can not commit sin? 1 John 2:1 My little children, I am writing these things to you that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; The following verse carries the connotation of desirability along with plausibility and the solution; should the third class condition of the “if clause” tend to raise its ugly head.
