Larry, There is no such thing as an awful question. God may have brought you here to the forum to accomplish deliverance in your life. Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 12 that the power of God is manifest in weakness. Larry, we're all weak. And we all sin. Everyday! Where it says those who practice sin are not of God refers to those who choose to stay in their sin, those who refuse to repent. 1 John 1:9 God forgives. Can you repent, can you ask God's forgiveness in faith? Ya you can. Hebrews 11:6 non of us will ever please God without faith. We all deal with sin every single day. The key word in the last sentence is deal. Do we deal with our sin or does it deal with us. God told Cain Genisis 4:7 That sin was crouching at the door. He told him that he was not to be mastered by his sin. It's no less true for us today. 1 John 1:9 God is faithful and just. If it's true for any of us then it's true for all of us. Do you have Worldly sorrow or Godly sorrow. Worldly sorrow only leads to death, but Godly sorrow leads to salvation. Moses told Israel, choose you this day life. Isaiah 59:1 God is able. Check it out! God is always faithful! My friend what will you choose. In Him, lionheart |

I choose life. What must I do? This gets confusing. I think it makes sense, but then that understanding slips away. I do not choose to stay in my sin in that I do not want to stay there. I hate sinning against God. I want to repent, but if repent means to go and sin no more, then how can I repent? I ask for God's forgiveness many, many times a day even for bad thoughts. It is not all bad because I do notice that I have faith that He does forgive me--maybe it is belief and not faith. Anyway, I feel forgiven more and more each day. Also, every time I turn my thoughts to God, He is there. He really will never leave me or let me go. This part may be wrong, but He told me about a week ago that my connection with Him inside is always open, and even my sin will not close the door. If it takes faith to please God, how do I know I have faith? How is faith different than belief? I think I have Godly sorrow. I hate sinning against God and ask forgiveness every time. I do not intend to sin ever again every time. Sometimes I can hold out longer than other times. I am so sad that I have so very, very far to go before I can have that abundant, joyful life He promises. I really do dispair of ever succeeding. Thank you for talking with me. Love, Larry |

Larry, You are no better or worse than anyone else. We all sin EVERY DAY! The only reason that we can live with oirselves is because we trust that Jesus bore our sins for us. and that one day, when we meet Him face to face, He will make us to be just like Himself. DO NOT look to yourself for affirmation of your salvation. Rather look to Jesus and thank Him for saving you from your sins (past, present and future. Keep the Faith, Hoppy |
