Bible Note: Larry, one beautiful attribute of our Lord, is patience. If only we (you and me) could practice that same attribute - what a wonderful life we would have. Right? A verse came to mind after reading a few of these threads. Paul exhorted Timothy (2 Tim 3:16) that ALL Scripture is for instruction ... so that means this Scripture is for our instruction. Exodus 24 explains HOW LONG GOD TAKES to do what we want now, this moment. You want to drive out certain sins, right? I wish I had a bible dictionary handy, because each of the "enemies' names" listed means something profound. One means materialist, one means immorality, one wickedness, etc. God is speaking in verse 29 and 30. He boldly declares, "I will NOT DRIVE THEM OUT FROM BEFORE YOU IN A SINGLE YEAR; less the land become desolate, and the beast of the field multiply against thee. By little by little I WILL DRIVE them out from before you, Larry, until YOU - LARRY - be increased, and inherit the land! Courage, as you ALLOW HIM to accomplish what HE desires in you and through you. Ex 34:10-12 give credence to the verses listed above. It adds a few tidbits too. Pay special attention to Ex 34:10 ... Accept it for yourself - because, ALL Scripture is for YOUR instruction, etc. - T'oma |
