Bible Question: I have a question is there anything in the bible about loving who you are or being beautiful, I am really searching for things like that? |
Bible Answer: Hi, loves... Welcome to the forum! Actually, the Bible presupposes that we all have an enormous amount of self love. Indeed, the problem isn't ever a matter of insufficient self-esteem, but rather too much! On the other hand, we are to honor God in everything He has given us. Our bodies are a gift -- and we shall be using them (in a glorified state) on the new earth. Consequently, in bringing all things under submission to the Lord -- as is our mandate -- we should certainly properly care for our body along with our mind. (Currently I'm reading a book called, "Fit Bodies Fat Minds: Why Evangelicals Don't Think and What to do About It" by Os Guiness.) Wouldn't that be at least partially what being a good steward is about? I guess I'm preaching to myself here, too! :-) In Him, Doc |
