Bible Note: I choose life. What must I do? This gets confusing. I think it makes sense, but then that understanding slips away. I do not choose to stay in my sin in that I do not want to stay there. I hate sinning against God. I want to repent, but if repent means to go and sin no more, then how can I repent? I ask for God's forgiveness many, many times a day even for bad thoughts. It is not all bad because I do notice that I have faith that He does forgive me--maybe it is belief and not faith. Anyway, I feel forgiven more and more each day. Also, every time I turn my thoughts to God, He is there. He really will never leave me or let me go. This part may be wrong, but He told me about a week ago that my connection with Him inside is always open, and even my sin will not close the door. If it takes faith to please God, how do I know I have faith? How is faith different than belief? I think I have Godly sorrow. I hate sinning against God and ask forgiveness every time. I do not intend to sin ever again every time. Sometimes I can hold out longer than other times. I am so sad that I have so very, very far to go before I can have that abundant, joyful life He promises. I really do dispair of ever succeeding. Thank you for talking with me. Love, Larry |
