Greetings Doc! You are joking? Right? Find any commentary that is not written by a Calvinist and you will see my view represented. :-) Besides, what does dualing quotes accomplish? The text quite plainly says what it says. ;-) I don't need a commentator to explain to me that 'all' means 'all'. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Dear Brother Tim, Ummm... this is starting to border on the surreal. I started these questions quoting a bunch of commentators, including Calvinists and Arminians. Their position was diametrically opposed to your own. They also deal quite well with the plain sense -- as long as you stay in context. Either this independent spirit represents a sense of self assuredness of Herculean proportions, or a disdain for the work of the Spirit in church history of a level I've rarely encountered outside places frequented by skeptics. It is no wonder that no scholars are ever referenced except to try to refute them! I humbly bow out in the face of such self assuredness. In Him, Doc PS I wonder how far I'd get learning Greek by spurning the knowledge of all those who knew Greek before me. After all, the Greek plainly says what the Greek plainly says! I shouldn't need grammars or dictionaries! :-) |

Greetings Doc! It would be nice if we could disagree without you resorting to insults. :-( To the best of my knowledge, I have never personally insulted you for taking a different position than I do. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
