1 | Is Catholic considered false religion? | Matt 15:6 | Emmaus | 71638
calmrage, I will leave any comments on Mormonism or what some pastors may or may not think or say to others who may know more about it than me. I will try to address what I am familiar with. One reason Catholics call Mary holy is because she is called "full of grace" or "highly favored one" in Luke 1:28" and blessed among women in Luke 1:42, 48. Generally Catholics call her the Blessed Mother. Since that is scriptural. We wonder why some other christinas do not do the same. "Hail, full of grace!" Luke 1:28 "And she cried out with a loud voice and said, blessed are you among women," Luke 1:42 "all generations will call me blessed." Luke 1:48 As for worshiping statutes and images as idols- catholics no more worship than than Americans worship stautes of Washington and Lincoln and other heros that we see all over this country. They are eminders of the people they represent. Have you every seen and illustrated childrens bible or any other picture of Jesus in a Protestant context? Do you consider them idols? If you wish to see previous post I have made on this subject, please go tothe yellow Search box on the left side of the page and click on it. Then type in Emmaus and hit enter and you will see all my previous posts. Emmaus |

You ask a question in your comment, One reason Catholics call Mary holy is because she is called "full of grace" or "highly favored one" in Luke 1:28" and blessed among women in Luke 1:42, 48. Generally Catholics call her the Blessed Mother. Since that is scriptural. We wonder why some other christinas do not do the same. I think the answer to you question, We wonder why some other Christians do not do the same; is evident because of the response that Jesus made in an other portion of Luke when someone in the crowed made an attempt to exalt the mother of Christ. Luke 11:27 And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. This was directed to Jesus himself and for the crowed to hear. His response to her, and the exaltation of his mother, was instantly nipped short in the bud, at that particular time, only to have it loom up to the forefront in years to come. Luke 11:28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it. The words, Yea rather, are in fact given to discount what the woman had said and place more importance on those that hear the word of God and keep it. The next obvious question would be who are they who hear the Word of God, and keep it? It is apparent that any who would continue the action suggested by the woman aren’t hearing the Word of God and keeping it, because of their actions; they are listening more to what the woman had to say or they wouldn’t be discounting what the Lord’s emphasized! Matthew 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Exodus 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; Why not bow down to them? For I the Lord thy God am a jealous God! I don't know about you but I don’t want to do something that is wrong or even smacks of wrong, that would upset someone that is jealous, much less God Himself; that’s like walking on thin ice! This is the way I see it from my point of view, CDBJ |

Check this verse Matthew 10:37 - He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. There are lots of women in the Bible which are also considered "Good". Ruth, Mary are some of the examples. I won't use the word HOLY because holy to me is sinless. I won't fight to convert you to be Christian. But however, my viewpoint is that Mary is human afterall. We only worship those who are holy, The father, the spirit and the Son. Again, my main point is concerning who we should worship, not so much whom we should respect and learn from. There are many people from the Bible that are the models of Christians or God followers. Moses, Abraham, David, Solomon, Paul, John... and so on.... They are all "Good", but yet they are not holy even they are full of grace. Again, I don't want to fight about this issue. It would be endless because you have your own strong belief about Mary and yet I have mine. All Christians believe are Trinity and that's all.... But thanks for reading and responding.... It's nice to know some thoughts of other religions sometimes.... |

4 | Is Catholic considered false religion? | Matt 15:6 | CDBJ | 71660
Any time one drops on their knees before something it is considered worshiping. Rev. 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. Rev. 22:8-9 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things. [9] Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God. It was obvious to the one standing what the one on his knees was doing and the answer seems to be consistent, See thou do it not: worship God. |

Nice job of turning something around so that it doesn’t fit. One-upmanship, you win. Matthew 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. What is the Gate? |

Huh? I thought you are the one who was turning around first.. last message all of a sudden you post "meaning of worship"... Why do we have to fight about winning or losing.. I am not winning anything... and I don't post to win. I have nothing gain to win an agrument. The gate is the word of God. Because Jesus is the way, life, and truth. Matthew 5:5 - "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Matthew 5:8 - "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Matthew 5:9 - "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Have a good day! |
