AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 15:6 he is not to honor his father or his mother [by helping them with their need].' So by this you have invalidated the word of God [depriving it of force and authority and making it of no effect] for the sake of your tradition [handed down by the elders]. |
Subject: Is Catholic considered false religion? |
Bible Note: I think that we are both on the same page it’s just that your emphasis leans toward the human aspect of Jesus where as I lean more toward the divine aspect. I think that the key to the answer between what you believe and what I believe rest I what was spoken by Peter. I pay special attention to what Peter said with regards to how Christ was, because this is how Christ was going to build his church and I wanted to be a member of this church. Notice where Peter places the emphasis and I am sure that Peter knew that Jesus was the son of Mary. Matthew 16:16-17 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. [17] And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. Why didn’t Peter say that he, Christ, was the son of Mary, which is where most good Catholics would place the emphasis? |
