NASB | Matthew 15:6 he is not to honor his father or his mother.' And by this you invalidated the word of God for the sake of your tradition. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 15:6 he is not to honor his father or his mother [by helping them with their need].' So by this you have invalidated the word of God [depriving it of force and authority and making it of no effect] for the sake of your tradition [handed down by the elders]. |
Subject: Is Catholic considered false religion? |
Bible Note: Good morning Emmaus, am I wrong in assuming that the Catholic Church teaches that Mary had sinless perfection? In your last post you stated, “It does not say Mary is the creator of God, only that God is her son and she is His mother because Jesus is God. Was God made flesh?” I think, for sake of clarity, that it says the Word became flesh. i.e. only the second person of the trinity not the whole God Head became flesh. Some things in the hypostatic union are hard to understand to say the least but it is my contention that we should try and not confuse the issue by the way we word things. Your contention, Mary is the mother of God, because Jesus was God. Case and point, tell me if you believe both of these statements? Thesis, Jesus died on the cross, Jesus was God; synopsis, did God died on the cross? CDBJ |
