AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 15:6 he is not to honor his father or his mother [by helping them with their need].' So by this you have invalidated the word of God [depriving it of force and authority and making it of no effect] for the sake of your tradition [handed down by the elders]. |
Subject: Is Catholic considered false religion? |
Bible Note: "I don’t say that she was the mother of God, because God had no mother." I presume you agree with scripture when Elizabeth refers to Mary as "the mother of my Lord." What Lord was Elizabeth referring too? God is the answer. This is not a Catholic thing. Even Reformer Joe has defended this title on the forum. It is standard Christology for all Christians. It does not say Mary is the creator of God, only that God is her son and she is His mother because Jesus is God. Was God made flesh? Was True God and True man in the person of Jesus born of a woman in Bethlehem and laid in a manger or just some "humanity"? "You can always say along with good old Frank, I Did IT My Way." I never did say that, nor did I say that Jesus was not mary's Savior. Nor did Mary. In fact she said, "my spirit rejoices in God my Savior." You read a lot more into the title Mother of God than I do. Emmaus |
