AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 15:6 he is not to honor his father or his mother [by helping them with their need].' So by this you have invalidated the word of God [depriving it of force and authority and making it of no effect] for the sake of your tradition [handed down by the elders]. |
Subject: Is Catholic considered false religion? |
Bible Note: CDBJ, I would only point out the following in response to your general point. The scripture says "all generations will call me blessed" and that is a prophecy of the Holy Spirit in God's word which Catholic's fullfill. You also quote from the same Gospel of Luke: Luke 11:28: "But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it." to which I say Yea and Amen! and again quote Luke 1:38, 45: "Behold I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done unto me according to your word...Blessed are you who believed that what was spoke to you by the Lord would be fulfilled." Luke's verses are complementary, not contradictory. Jesus is not saying His mother is not blessed. He is saying that it is broader than that-all who hear and keep God's word are blessed. In other words, she is an example that all disciples can and should follow. Emmaus |
