AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 15:6 he is not to honor his father or his mother [by helping them with their need].' So by this you have invalidated the word of God [depriving it of force and authority and making it of no effect] for the sake of your tradition [handed down by the elders]. |
Subject: Is Catholic considered false religion? |
Bible Note: calmrage, I will leave any comments on Mormonism or what some pastors may or may not think or say to others who may know more about it than me. I will try to address what I am familiar with. One reason Catholics call Mary holy is because she is called "full of grace" or "highly favored one" in Luke 1:28" and blessed among women in Luke 1:42, 48. Generally Catholics call her the Blessed Mother. Since that is scriptural. We wonder why some other christinas do not do the same. "Hail, full of grace!" Luke 1:28 "And she cried out with a loud voice and said, blessed are you among women," Luke 1:42 "all generations will call me blessed." Luke 1:48 As for worshiping statutes and images as idols- catholics no more worship than than Americans worship stautes of Washington and Lincoln and other heros that we see all over this country. They are eminders of the people they represent. Have you every seen and illustrated childrens bible or any other picture of Jesus in a Protestant context? Do you consider them idols?
