Hi SweetT, I agree with your conclusion that "once you deny the Holy Spirit you deny all three". However, your reading of Matthew 12:30 and Luke 12:8,9 did not get from you the conclusion that I would expect. I wanted to see how you felt about the blasphemous language among men today. They swear and take the name of God and Jesus Christ in vain. Can this be forgiven? Yes. But I would not speak any careless word against the Spirit. Jesus said in Matthew 12:36, "And I say to you, that every careless word that men shall speak, they shall render account for it in the day of judgment. For by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned." My words should be words of confession of faith, fearing the One who has authority to cast into hell. Luke 12:5. We want to confess Him before men, because we want the Son of Man to confess us before the angels. Luke 12:8,9, "And I say to you, everyone who confesses Me before men, the Son of Man shall confess him before the angels of God; but he who denies Me before men shall be denied before the angels of God." When a person swears or blasphemes he is denying his Lord and careless in his awaredness of His power. 1) May I take note of your capitalization of the Son of man, Jesus? Jesus is the Son of Man, the Son of God. Personally, I get no understanding of Son of man in the Scriptures. 2) I see the Holy Spirit as a Helper who will teach us all things, and bring to remembrance all that Jesus taught. But as far as "convicting" us, it is the Law that convicts us and shows us our need of the Savior. And number three is in the Ten Commandments. From the heart, Ray |

Just wanted to say I liked your response and I truly have no argument with what you said I agree. What I meant about the Holy Spirit was that He convicts our hearts and brings us to the Lord but yes He also teaches us. God Bless, Tanielle |
