While it is true that the Psalms were written in the form of Hebrew poetry, it must also be remembered that EVERY WORD of the Psalms is God-breathed (inspired) and profitable for doctrine, etc. Psalms contains much Bible doctrine, as well as many, many Messianic prophecies. Thus, we must never lightly dismiss the Psalms as "just poetry". Words do have meaning (even in Psalms) and we know what the Word of God means by what it says. | ||||||
