Subject: 4th commandment has been done away? |
Bible Note: Greetings Chris! Welcome to the forum my new friend! I haven't had a chance to read all of your posts on this subject, so you may have already covered this question. Are we free to disobey the 10 commandments? The reason I ask is simply this, I agree with you totally that we are not saved by, nor bound by the Law. However, the 10 commandments in my mind differ from the ritual Law in the sense that they represent morality, not ritual. Thus, it is still wrong to lie, even in Christ. So, while we are not saved by the Law, nor are we bound by the Law, the Spirit of Christ within us would not have us to lie, steal, cheat, ect.... So, while we are not bound by the Law, it still seems Scriptural to say that we will fulfill the morals of the Law as we walk in obedience to Christ and His Spirit. I always tell people that the Law was simply a mirror to show us how sinful we are and bring us to repentance. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
