well first of all who says that it has not been fulfilled yet? In Revelation 1:1 we are told that these things must [shortly] come to pass. Now how short is shortly? surely not 2000 years? Also in verse 4 we are told that the book was written to the seven churchs in John's day, but what good would it do to tell them about things that were not going to happen for two or three thousand years after they were dead and gone. There are many verses in the book that shows us that it has already been fulfilled, if you would for me to give them to you please write me at humpy40r@hotmail.com | ||||||

Greetings Humpy! How short is shortly? It depends upon one's perspective. :-) For God, 2,000 years is not long at all. :-) Seriously though, the actual Greek phrase is 'in speed'. It is equivalent to our quickly, and refers more to how things will occur, not when. As far as the seven churches are concerned, Scripture never says that Revelation was written to or just for them. Within the letter, we find seven letters addressed specifically to them, but nothing says that the entire book is addressed to them alone. Even if it were, there are many things written in Scripture which did not take place for thousands of years, yet were contained in letters or books written to a time long ago. Is. 53 is a good example. The best view of Revelation is based upon Rev. 1:19, where some of it had already taken place in John's time, some was taking place in John's time, and some was yet future (even in our time).
