1 | If we ask for healing does God answer no | 1 Peter | mitchbornagain | 146607
I can not understand how you think God CAN heal, yet that at times he just choses not to. I've adressed all these other concerns of yours in other posts, so I don't feel the need to repeat myself. You don't think God promises everyone the same thing, just a few, thats your choice to make, my Bible tells me God is no respecter of persons. And youa re like the billionth person who has said I haven't given Scripture in my posts, and again I will say yes I have. Sometimes I assume people will recognize them, so I leave out the Book Chapter and Verse, I'll try to not do that so much in the future, to clarify things for you better. Thanks for your note! Greetings Mitch! Thanks for the response! First of all, I never said that you didn't give Scripture. :-) What I said was that the Scripture you gave didn't say what you claimed. :-) You claimed that it is always God's will to heal. Yet, none of the Scriptures you listed actually says that it is always God's will to heal. Secondly, of course God works differently in different people's lives at different times. When was the last time you offered up a lamp at the temple? Why not? Yet, the people in the OT had to do so. ;-) God promised the people of Israel that a pillar of fire would procede them in their travels during the night and a pillar of cloud during the day. When was the last time that God did this for you while you were driving down the interstate. Some promises in the Bible are for specific people at specific times and were never meant for all people at all times. Some promises in the Bible are for everyone. The trick is to be able to tell the difference. Of the Scriptures you listed in your post to support your position, only one was actually stated as a promise (Ex. 23:25), yet it was addressed as part of God's covenant with Israel, not as a universal promise. I would hope my friend that you would prayerfully consider what I have said. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Hey Tim, Sorry for the misunderstanding, I thought you were saying I didn't provide any Scriptures, I understand what you meat now. First off let me just respond by saying the Scriptures I have listed, I do beleive promise healing to all. I understand, there are some things in the Bible, which are not meant for me, such as an eye for an eye. However, the ones I posted, are for me. I understand we have to know the difference :) You said that Ex 23:25 was a promise for the children of Israel only. Can I just ask you when you beleive God tossed it out, and did away with all the promies he gave them? Mitch |

Greetings Mitch! First of all, if the Scriptures you listed promise healing for all, where do they say so? :-) A promise for all would be: "I will heal everyone all the time!" :-) Yet, none of the verses you listed say this! Secondly, I don't believe that God tossed out His covenant with Israel. He is still honoring His covenant with them, but they aren't. :-( Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Hiya Tim, can I ask you to show me where the Bible says I will save everyone all the time. Also let me ask you this, you say he never tossed out his covenant with Israel, who in your eyes is Israel? Are they the ones who are the seed of Abraham? Mitch |

6 | If we ask for healing does God answer no | 1 Peter | Morant61 | 146741
Greetings Mitch! It is good to hear from you again! Your first question is easy! :-) 2 Pet. 3:9 - "The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." And, Rom. 10:13 - "for, 'Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved'" There are many more, but these make God's will concerning salvation for everyone perfectly clear. Concerning your second question, the nation of Israel is still Israel. However, Paul makes it clear in Rom. 9-11 that Gentiles have been grafted in spiritually speaking. Thus, I would not argue that the covenant promises made to the nation of Israel apply to believers! :-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Have you ever looked up the defiintion of the word saved as used in Romans 10:13? And thanks for answering the question about Israel, because yes, we are Abrahams seed, and an heir according to the promise , as the scripture says. So that covenant name Jehova-Rapha, which by the way, is the first used by God, is available to me today. Mitch |

Greetings Mitch! Yes, I have looked up the word in Rom. 10:13! It is the normal word for 'saved'. :-) As for you second point my friend, where does Scripture state that the promises made to the nation of Israel apply to us today? Paul expands the meaning of 'Israel' in Romans 9-11, but he never means the nation of Israel by his expanded definition. Nor, does he make the case that all the promises to the nation of Israel apply to us today. As I mentioned in an earlier post, God promised Israel a pillar of fire and of cloud. Does that promise apply to you? God commanded Israel to build a temple. Does that command apply to you? Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

The word can also be translated delivered, healed... As for the promises , Galatians 3:29 shows you the promises are for believers today. I don't need the pillar of fire today in my life, besides, that wasn't a covenant promise, such as the seven covenant names of God are. And yes to build a temple, that does apply to me, however the temple is no longer made of stone, my body is the temple of the Holy Ghost ( I Cor 6:19) . Mitch |
