1 | If we ask for healing does God answer no | 1 Peter | mitchbornagain | 146322
It is God's will to heal everyone. Jesus came into this world, and suffered a horrible penalty so that man could be restored to the relationship God inteded for us to have before Adam sinned in the Garden. I doubt many of us will doubt God sent his son to restore our relationship with Himself, so why is it we want to doubt he wanted to restore everything we lost? Scripture will tell you God is a healer, and its his will that everyone should be healed. To deny the power of the cross is foolishness, and you are trampling the blood of Christ underfoot. Has God Himself not stated I am the Lord that healeth thee? Show me where he says, I'm the Lord who healeth thee when I feel compassionate enough to. Or can we believe the Bible is true when it says God is love. So my answer, the biblical answer, is that it is God's will to heal everyone. But just like salvation, you must come to him and believe. Hi Mitch, Doc and EdB have already responded, so I don't want repeat their advice. Does God always heal? No, empirically we should know this. My mother, who knew the Lord, died after complications of suffering a stroke as a result of brain surgery. She was in a semi-vegitative state for 2 years. This was over 25 years ago. One of God's names is Jehovah rophe- Jehovah heals. However, this is but one of His names. To say God always heals is to look at one "slice of a very large pie." It is also to presuppose on His sovereignty. (Ps. 115:3) We would like to believe that He always heals, yet both scripture and life answer differently. We walk by faith, not by what God does for us physically. I don't see that you provided any solid biblical answer, but merely your opinion based on the Word. There's a difference. I am extremely sorry to hear about your mother, I am glad that she knew the Lord before she died. However you can't let the stroke that she had keep you in bondage for the rest of your life. I could take your example and say use it this way, I had an Uncle who died once of Lou Gherigs disease (hope the spelling is correct there) and to my knowledge, he did not know the Lord before he passed. Can I use that instance in my own life to say that there are some people whom God will not save before they die? Or coudl I say that my uncle never came to the truth, so therefore he died in ignorance? I am not attacking any Christian man or woman who gets sick, or even passes away with an illness, I am simply saying if they had been taught correctly, then they would be able to claim their healing. God Bless you BradK, I am sorry for the loss of your mother. Mitch |

Mitch, I appreciate the sentiments. However, I'm not sure how you arrived at the mistaken conclusion that I'm somehow in bondage? I'm not! I was simply using her death as an EXAMPLE that it is not always Gods' will to heal us. Mitch, scripture nowhere tells us to "claim our healing". We're going to have to disagree on this matter:-) BradK |

I use the phrase that you are in bondage, because you are allowing the lie that God has no intention of healing his children. Jesus said the Word will set you free, and if you can get ahold of the Word that heals, (he sent his Word and healed them) then you will be free in that area of your life. I understand you were using death as an example, however we can't base our belief on the Bible based on a person's lifestyle, otherwise everyone who said Christian's were nuts because a few so called Christians killed abortion doctors, would be valid in their assessment. Scripture might not use the exact words 'claim our healing' however Jesus was very specific when he told us that If we say unto this mountain be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in our heart, those things we say shall come to pass. Thats him telling us to speak to it, in other words, to claim it. Mitch |

Do you really understand Mark 11:12-26 in the context of the passage as well as asking God for something? Read Matthew 6:5-15 - whose will is it?

Yes I fully understand the passage you referred to in Mark, and if you understood it as well, you'd know my words are Truth. Also, in Matthew, the will is of course, God's will. I'm not sure where you are going with that question. So I'll just answer it, and leave it there. Mitch |
