1 | If we ask for healing does God answer no | 1 Peter | cody | 39147
so since the word of God tells us that by the strips Jesus bore we are healed and God said he sent His word and healed them we should asume that its God's will that we be healed so if we ask for healing God would not tell us no I have found no where in the New Testament where Jesus ever said no when someone came to Him for healing so would God ever answer with no for a prayer request for healing

Yes, and no. The relationship with the sick, asking Jesus to heal them, while he walked on earth is one area by it's self. The question does Jesus say no to healing today is also yes and no. Confused yet? When we ask to be healed today, say from cancer, have you ever seen God answer no? Again my answer to you is yes and no. Yes some people are healed now, but not often that I see. Please remember any healing while we are alive is only temporary, we will die eventually. We are pilgrims just passing through, and heaven is our real home. We will be new, have new bodies, so ultimately we are healed. The verse you quote for me means Jesus Stripes that he bore was for my sin. Do you think that might be a different way at loking at this? |

farout: You make a good point here. Well done and well stated. Thank you for your input. Isa. 53:5 "by His stripes we are healed." "The stripe (the Heb. noun is singular) that caused His death has brought salvation to those for whose sins He died. Peter confirms this in 1 Pet. 2:24." (page 1038, MacArthur Study Bible, Word Publishing, 1997). Is it always God's will to heal? No. Keep up the good work, sir. |
