1 | When may a church compromise the Bible? | Hebrews | EdB | 17324
Kelkat you can and may disagree but unless you believe God as Jesus went to hell and allowed Satan and his demons to torment him, then you do not believe in the same god as these other individuals. Unless you believe God acts in much the same way as a parking valet waiting to run to answer your every beck and call, you do not believe in that same god as these individuals. Unless you believe God is approx. 9 feet tall and has a hand approx 10” across, you do not believe in the same god as these individuals. Unless you believe God tricked Satan and sneaked upon the earth through the birth of Jesus, you do not believe in the same god as this individuals. Unless you believe God lost control of the earth at Garden of Eden and did not regain it back until the death of Jesus, you do not believe in the same god as these individuals. If you do not believe God exists to make you healthy, wealthy and generally without problems, you do not believe in the same god as these individuals. If you do not believe God has to perform everything you speak in faith, you do not believe in the same god as these individuals. Yes you can and may disagree but then you don’t believe in A Sovereign, Almighty, Owns the Cattle on a Thousand Hills, Does What He Wants, Awesome God who is a spirit and must be worshipped in Spirit and Truth, you believe in the god of these individuals. 2 | When may a church compromise the Bible? | Hebrews | CDBJ | 19098
Ed, I am a new comer to this thread and some of these comments have me a little at odds. Some of the things that you mention, and they are far too numerous for me to list all, I would like to know more about. Just taking the first part of your comment for starters, you say that these T.V. individuals spoke of Jesus going to hell and Satan and his demons tormented him. Could you please elaborate on this and show me where the verses are that tell of this encounter with Satan and his demons. I am getting up in years and I forget some thing, so could you please with God's Word, point me to these verses and explain this point. Yours in Christ, CDBJ
3 | When may a church compromise the Bible? | Hebrews | EdB | 19100
CDBJ No I can't because it isn't in the Bible, and that is just the point I was making. So many of these TV evangelist have said stuff like and it is repeated some many times that people just assume it to be fact. Jesus never went to Hell to be tormented by the Satan. Secondly hell isn't Satan's dwelling place, today Satan roams the earth seeking who he can devour. so you see CDBJ I wasn't defending this theology I was showing the error in it. EdB |

EdB, I am glad to hear that you don't believe all of that! There are a lot of loving believers out there that take in all that stuff they hear on T.V. and don't even question it. Some have been convinced that Satan is running around with a red epidermis, with horns on his head and a trident in his hand. There are scads of so-called Bible preachers that work on people's emotions and believer's tender hearts. Most of the ones that follow after them don't have enough Bible doctrine to come in out of the rain, what a shame. When I ask a person about their comments on a post I try to walk easy with them because I don't always know where they are coming from, except one time when I really lost my cool. After I responded, and my comments were sent, it was too late to bring them back. I felt so bad about the things that I said, but the die was cast. The Lord took me to the woodshed on that one and I was dead wrong by the way that I responded to them. I don't even remember who it was now, but I sure remember the spanking I got. I'm on another post with a person that is so sure the one can't be saved unless they are baptized in water. Well all I can say is that I am glad that he didn't find the Lord as an astronaut on a fatal mission someplace in space, the frustration would have killed him. Yours in Christ, CDBJ
