I think that when we come to know the Lord, the Holy Spirit starts feeding us on milk, then as we progress, He switches to Pablum, then onto other more solid foods until eventually we can use His Word without getting into strife or falling on the wayside. I feel that when we reach that point then if we allow Him to, He will lead us on to greater and greater highlights in His Word. A person doesn't enter into a business and become a millionare overnight unless he is born with a silverspoon in his mouth. In order to become adept in the Word of God we must access the Holy Spirit's inifinite knowledge as He gives it to us. After all, God is not going to give us something that we cannot handle until we are ready to handle it. "Sort of like what the king told Paul: "Too much study doth make you mad, Paul:" (My version). Now what I have learned over the years is that the Holy Spirit (in my life) has gotten me to a point where I can believe for what I want to believe for. If others do not interprete the Word that way then that is their perogative. Sometimes I insert foot into mouth without checking to see if it is the right size. After checking on some of the things I have stated in this forum, I believe its a size 13 1/2. |

Floyd: I am not sure if you answere myquestion. Although what you said is valid. What I am asking is will a Christian always know if the Holy Spirit is in him or her as the case maybe? I doubt that the Holy spirit ever leaves a genuine saved Christian. I may well grieve the Holy Spirit, but with the Holy Spirit as a deposit or seal on our lives is it not a consideration in a blakslidden condition, we mayd not remember the Spirit is within us? Your thoughts are appreciated. Blessimgs. justme (can you believe I miss-spelled my user name before?) |

Well justme, I don't know if the Holy Spirit will ever leave us but I do know that we can become so hardened by our sins that we may not hear the voice of the Holy Spirit. You know the Word says if we confess our sins the Lord is just and quick to forgive us of our sins. And I believe that even though we may not come back to the Holy Spirit in the same area as when we left Him, we can eventually work ourselves up to the same area of our walk that we were in. I was going to say that the Holy Spirit would not trust us with the things that we had before, but that would go against the Word of His forgiving us now wouldn't it. Sort of like the fact that I can sin against my wife and ask her forgiveness and even though she says that she forgives me, the fact is that she will always remember it and will probably bring it up in the next argument we have. But the Holy Spirit, once He has forgiven us it is forgotten, never to bring it up again. Know what I mean or am I just rambling on? |

Scrpture ...1 John 1:9 ... "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" Floyd The Bible does not say "if we confess our sins the Lord is JUST AND QUICK to forgive us of our sins" 1 John 1:9 says "faithful and just" ... and continues "to cleanse us from all unrighteousness". I suggest you stop misquoting Scripture. Searcher |
