GeorJoy. Thank you for your kind response. The Romans 10:17 passage says nothing I can see realting to speaking in tongues, or have I missed something? I think when one is starting out discovering the Bible and studing it, one should have a good guide to help. There certianly are many authors who attempt to instruct us in the best way. My Pastor goes through the Bible one book at a time, verse by verse and we have gone through about 10 books of the Bible in 2 years. I think this is one way to study the Word as well. I use "I believe or I think" in some of my notes, as there are subjects that some find offensive when we come accros so authoritarian. My thinking is, I leave a wider door open so a responding Forum person can make their answer as deep or narrow as they see fit. My view point is always open should someone ask me. However I think it is very important to listen to what others say and gleam what is chafe from the real seed. Does that sound logical to you? Any thoughts? justme |

My feelings exactly. However, once again, I strongly suggest that we all get accoustomed to quoting, or at the very least, knowing where and how to find a scriptural foundation for our beliefs and thoughts before we voice them. This way, we are prepaired with THE WORD to "fight the good fight." Would anyone go out onto a battlefield without the sword. You may know how that sword works and how to use it, but if you AIN't got the "sword of truth" in your heart, you just AIN'T prepaired to fight the enemy. Fight him with (((THE WORD;))) Not your words! As good as your intentions are; your words are not good enough without Gods word therein! George |
