1 | Can we learn anything from Naaman? | 1 Sam 15:22 | glory777 | 127316
Definitly obedience, even if it seems picky. Doing the little things for God, even if they seem unpleasant and very humbling, bring great rewards. It is easy to do great things that get noticed and in the process you are elevated. The Lord can not mend something that is not broken. Naaman needed to be broken to see the work of the Healer. 2 | Which disciples were married | Mark 1:30 | glory777 | 111862
Searcher- I think I read somewhere that in order to be a member of the ruling group of Jews at the time, one had to be married. Paul would have had to have been. I don't remember where I got this information. Perhaps you have more input? glory777 |

3 | Eating meat with blood in it: Gen. 9:4 | Gen 9:4 | glory777 | 111860
Thanks, EdB- After that discourse, I know much more than I ever wanted to know! I think I am going to have my salad, now - and from now on! glory777 |

4 | Why children as well? | Bible general Archive 2 | glory777 | 104704
Ed- I agree about the children. However, until they have attained the age of spiritual accountability (I don't know when that is but God knows) I believe the child is saved by the Blood of the Lamb who was slain from the foundation of the world. Hence David's claim, even in his grief over the loss of his first son with Bathsheba, that he would see him again in Heaven. As far as the women go, I hate to admit it, but it seems everytime you look at women who were not proper Hebrew women, they all had idols that they brought into the homes of Hebrew men and caused them to commit idolatry. God always knows what He is doing. It may seem cruel to us now, but He knows what would ultimatly happen if He wouldn't act. Am I right or wrong here? Debbie |

5 | How to love neighbors we don't like | Mark 12:31 | glory777 | 97791
One sure fire way to at least "like" your enemies is to pray for them. Even people who annoy you. On my way to church this morning, there was a car ahead of me going about 50 miles an hour and I had no way to pass him. I was a little annoyed, to say the least. Then I remembered to pray for him. I asked God to bless him, to give him traveling mercies and to reveal Himself to the man, drawing him close to Him. By the time I finally got to where I could pass him, I could smile and bless him in truth. Now I wish I could remember to do that all the time! Also, if you know what causes that person to be so unlovable it would help. Is it because he/she is craving attention or has a "false front" because of great insecurity? There is usually a reason behind a persons unlovability and if you can look at it that way, you can feel compassion, prayer comes easy and it helps to ease the dislike. Ask for the heart of Jesus who loved all and died so all could come to Him if they choose. This person could be a brother/sister in Christ, if not now, in the future. God bless, Debbie |

6 | Pets in heaven after death. | Bible general Archive 2 | glory777 | 96935
floorman- Hank is right, there is no scripture saying that animals go to Heaven. However, scripture says that Christ will return riding a white horse (Revelation) and about animals living in harmony with mankind after the Lord returns. I would love to believe that the Lord has a special place that the animals go after death, and who's to say He doesn't - you couldn't find a book big enough to put all that the Lord has done or can do in it - but scripture doesn't tell us so. 7 | How do you say "repent" gently? | Acts 3:26 | glory777 | 96934
Aixen7z4- I may be wrong, but I don't think a person can come to the point of accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior unless he comes to the point of repentence. If you are not broken, knowing how needy you are for a Savior, you will not accept One. That involves brokenness, and in that brokenness a desire to change, something we can't do on our own. It is having a deep sorrow, not just being sorry, for the way you are living, but a desperation, knowing nothing you can do can make you acceptable in the eyes of God, and knowing that only Jesus death and ressurection can make you acceptable. Only the Holy Spirit working in someone can make him understand this. It is only so many words to those who won't believe. God bless, Debbie |

8 | What exactly is the trinity? | Matthew | glory777 | 85546
For more on the Trinity, type the word in the quick search box. If it seems hard to understand, remember, we are not God so there are things we will never be able to fully comprehend. God bless, Debbie |

9 | More about the 3rd commandment please? | Bible general Archive 1 | glory777 | 85545
Good answer, inmyheart! Others verses that do not tell specifically not to use the lord's name in vain are Romans 13:14 and 1Cor. 6:17. If we put on Christ, we will talk as He talked - or do our best. and if our bodies of temples of the Holy Spirit, what comes out of our mouths should not be demeaning to the name of the Lord. I had a problem with this at one time, commonly heard sayings, like "Oh my God", that was not meant as a prayer and pieces and changes in the Lords name, like "Geez" and "Gosh". It did take time in the Word, repentence - lots -, help from the Holy Spirit and time. Old habits can be hard to break. Peace- Debbie |

11 | PLEASE EXPLAIN MATTHEW 19:8 | Bible general Archive 1 | glory777 | 82730
amenbob- Please go to quick search and type in divorce. You will find a lot of scripture verse references to help you out. I do know that God hates divorce as He states in Malachi, He is a God who forgives and wants us to be like Him, but He also has made some allowances where divorce is not condemned. Try the search, it might help. Debbie |

12 | This is from the feeding of the multitud | Bible general Archive 1 | glory777 | 82729
Fran- Sorry, my mind mind jumped ahead of my eyes - I hadn't really thought about it being for the tribes, but I had thought about it being proof to the 12 disciples. Now maybe my former note will make sense. Debbie |

13 | This is from the feeding of the multitud | Bible general Archive 1 | glory777 | 82728
Hi Fran- I don't believe the bible tells us the significance of there being 12 baskets left, but it has crossed my mind, too. When God chooses to bless, He can bless abundantly! Obvious proof to each of the disciples, and yet even with all that, one would choose not to follow. Peace in Christ- Debbie |

14 | did judas eat at the last supper? | John | glory777 | 76438
On a personal level, yes I can, if there was any chance that Saddam would receive the gospel. Would I, knowing that, given the chance, he would kill me and my family because we believe in Christ? I think I would tie his feet, wash his feet, preach the Word and then.....I know I sure wouldn't let him escape to torture and kill millions more if given the opportunity. My opinion only..... 15 | Who is the "they" in this passage? | Dan 2:43 | glory777 | 73907
ianjon- please do not repeat your words and run them together. It makes for very difficult reading and understanding. I think all of us on the forum would appreciate it. Thanks, Debbie |

16 | Question re: Job | Job | glory777 | 72517
boowig- In the Old Testament, as now, everything that happened was ordained or allowed by God. They knew who was in charge. We know that Satan is the source of evil, but God gives choice. God also knows what is happening and what the future is and every second that will happen in our lives. So, in a sense they were correct in stating that trouble came from God, and although Job went through the test, with God's knowledge, God also knew how the test would come out - which is something that Satan still does not realize! Peace- Debbie |

17 | who are the 144,000 | Rev 7:3 | glory777 | 72516
Another explaination I have heard is that the 144,000 are actually Jews (12000 from each tribe of the 12 tribes of Israel). We have to be careful and realize that some things are symbolic but not all things have to be and that some things that we take as literal do not have to be. A lot in Revelation we will just have to wait and see which interpretation is correct!:) Debbie |

18 | Finding 'Act as though you have faith' | Bible general Archive 1 | glory777 | 72399
Steve- As I have gone through and read this mess of a thread, i am reminded of Pharoah. No matter what proof he had laid on him, he refused to believe and his heart was hardened. I believe we are seeing a lot of this right here in the forum. In the last days people will turn away from the truth, scripture will be made out to be what they want it to be and, as we all can see, aften 1 is an example of this. I will not post further to someone who is not a true Christian and whose only desire is to lead others away from Jesus Christ - our Lord and God.The purpose of this forum is to help Christians understand scripture, not to twist it. Adding fuel to the fire is not helping. Aften 1 refuses to say what denomination, if any, he is affiliated with. If this is one of the teachings of it, it is not bible oriented and as such, he should not be here. Debbie |

19 | how were the sisters | Luke 10:42 | glory777 | 72124
prayon - Excuse me if I digress a little. But I find so much that is applicable to our lives here and now. Yes, Jesus should come above everything and have first priority. But I also think of the people who are important in our lives. When we have company, are we so busy preparing and cooking that we don't have the time and energy to really involve ourselves with them? Or how about our children? I am afraid when mine were little, I had to have a clean house and I find that now, with my grandson I have my priorities more in the right places. I would rather have time with him - even though I have "designer furniture" (fingerprints in the dust!) rather than an immaculate house. Too many of us are caught up in the "Martha syndrome" and don't realize it until it is too late. I wonder if Martha ever did sit down next to her sister and decided that, just for once, sandwiches were good enough? Debbie |

20 | Divine Healing? | Matthew | glory777 | 72111
You are right, God is not the source for sickness, disease, etc., but He does allow it. 2 Cor. 1:4-8 was talking about the afflictions Paul was suffering and he wrote saying that as they were comforted by God, so they could comfort others. Also, there was an instance where Jesus "undid" the Father's work. Actually, it was a working together in the overall plan. When Jesus healed the man who was blind from birth. Was it a lack of faith, I might add, along with sin as the disciples asked, that caused the man to be born blind? Jesus healed the man of his blindness for a reason. If our faith is what keeps us healthy in every case, why wasn't Paul healed and Timothy? You can give a lot of verses for "faith" healing, and I agree with them, but why do you continue to throw out the ones that don't agree with your way of thinking, that even the greatest men of faith had sickness that even faith and prayer would not relieve? Only the grace of God gave them strength to bear it. Is that not also an example for us? We need to read the whole word of God and use it all. Debbie |
