1 | Why should we believe a "secret rapture" | Bible general Archive 1 | disciplerami | 75189 | ||
I guess we can't agree on everything. You write: "The event starts with what we know as the rapture and continues up to the time that God sets up his kingdom here on earth." See, I can't go along with this. If I'm misunderstanding you, help straighten me out. But I understand you to be saying that Jesus is going to establish a kingdom here on earth at His second coming. Is that what you are saying? The way I see this all unfolding is quite different. When Jesus returns and rescues the church and judges the earth, He then turns over the kingdom to the Father (1 Corinthians 15). My understanding is that the fiery judgment will happen at his second coming, and this world will be toast. Good day. |

Hello disciplerami; The answer to your question is no I don’t think they are the same. A good source of information as far as a helpful commentary on the book of Revelation can be found free on the Internet. It is hard to find someone who has broken down the Revelation so that it has any semblance of something that can be clearly understood. Check out the following. revelationcommentary.org.url also http://www.solagroup.org/ I don’t know that I understand what you are trying to say here, “My understanding is that the fiery judgment will happen at his second coming, and this world will be toast.” Are you assuming that this is the end of the earth or what? Greetings CDBJ! If I may, I would like to add some comments to this discussion. As you may remember, i am a believer in a mid-trib rapture. The interpretative scheme that I use to understand Revelation is basically this: 1) I see the 7 seals as very general judgements of God which occur during the church age. 2) I see the 7 trumpets as more specific judgements of God which occur during the first 3 1/2 years of Daniel's 70th week - with the rapture occuring after the 7th trumpet (probably in Rev. 14). 3) I see the 7 bowls as very intense expressions of God's wrath which will be poured out during the final 3 1/2 years of Daniel's 70th week. This system has helped me to get a better grasp on Revelation. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
