God's gives all of us a gift and my gift my now be yours, but we all have the responiblity of WITNESSING GOD'S WORD. moedee Thank you for response. And, I have another question: As a Deacon, you see the membership from a different viewpoint than most people. And, you have seen people come to your congregation, spend time there, and then move on decidng that yours was not the "right" church for them. What are your thoughts when you see this happen? I Greek U in the Name of Jesus! Brian, That's a great question, and I get ask that question some 365 days a year even by the congregation believe or not. So here's my thoughts on moving from one Congregation to another. Healthy people and healthy churches learn to deal openly with pain and sorrow. When trouble comes, truth is the best medicine. We must not live in denial nor hide facts. People need clear and open information in order to understand and to process troubling issues. When I'm ask this question before I answer the question I ask is it the "Church" or the "Pastor"? You see as Christian we have issues that sometimes doesn't have anything to do with either. However, all Churches and Pastor has a responsiblity, and because the Pastor is the overseer thier should be spiritual growth under his Pastoral care. Now I do feel that "Pastor's" as a sheperd "CAN NOT REACH THE ENTIRE FLOCK" in other words if a member feel that there spiritual maturity, prayer, Bible study, witnessing, stewardship, ministry, personal morality, and discovering the will of God has not challenge them to the point of discipleship they should leave to find a "Church Home" that does. I do feel that they should talk to the Pastor out of respect and let him know they are leaving, and a Pastor should respect that in refence to an opportunity and the need for disciples in the Church (any Church). I just have problem with Christian who leave because they don't like the Pastor: Ask for to much money Car he drives Pastor wife etc.... The church is the one group in the world that has been given the job of telling the good news - Not bad news. So that's my spin on it people change for "UnGodly Reason" and some "Godly".
